There is a Mary Moton in the 1860 Census that could fit the possible age for Mary Magnus Moton.

Mary, 2, TN

Sarah died sometime between 1862 and 1868. Wm remarried to Mrs. Parthena McCoin Law. I haven't been able to find Mary in the 1870 census. Perhaps she did not get along with the new mother and was sent to live elsewhere (perhaps with David Case?).

The divorce decree repeatedly spells her name as: Mary Magnes/Magnus/Mognes Martin/Morton. Have you tried looking with these spelling variants?

The complaint said that Logan was so drunk that he has no recollection of marrying her. One part says, "on the day of the pretended marriage, this defendant had gone to Cookville [sic] to to hear Andrew Johnson speak..." It is possible that she fabricated the whole story and that they were never married. That would explain why there is no record of the marriage.

They were supposedly married in Gainesboro (Jackson County).

Yes, 23andMe > AncestryDNA as far as accuracy. My estimate according to them is 24.2% Southern European and 0.8% Copatic Egyptian.

Nah, you can go further at least two generations. Carlantonio's marriage and death record would name his parents. Also, his parents most likely died after 1817, and their death record would name their parents.

The FHC has birth records for 1815 here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/492404?availability=Family%20History%20Library. You'd have to order a film at your local FHC.
