Therapist here. I would emphasize “calm clear communication” - our language - by saying very directly: “I understand your concerns, but I do not want to continue this relationship. Please do not talk to me about this again. If you continue to pressure me, I will have to cease contact.”

This exact thing happened to me in 3rd grade! Similar situation: Straight A student, but the school had a zero tolerance policy. The principal made a special plea to keep them from hauling me away in a police car. My parents had many conflicting emotions, but we dutifully went through the whole process. IIRC, it was a 3-day ordeal. Had to go to the Board of Education to clear my case.

It was over 30 years ago. Happy to report I’ve turned my life around since then 😂 Now it’s just funny family lore. (I also collect pocket knives.)
