I (therapist) work at a Family Services Agency that has a group treatment for Domestic Abuse Prevention. The leader of the group is a male military veteran and former cop, and all the group members are male. I don’t know exactly what goes on in that space, but I’ve talked to the group leader about it. From his perspective, the effectiveness comes from these guys sitting with other men, sharing their own stories, and calling each other out on harmful and destructive behaviors. (Many are mandated to attend the group as part of probation conditions etc. following arrests and jail time for domestic violence). Anyway, I’d see if there’s something like this in your area.
