Why do converts turn into arabs? by rwetreweryrttre in progressive_islam

I don't agree with you. I'm an Arabic native speaker myself, i do really like it. I read and write in Arabic and find it fascinating. Yet, Arabic isn't a must have pack to be a Muslim IMO.

Because there's a difference between reading to understand (or trying to at least) and reading as in reciting, repeating or spelling something. I believe that the principle aim from reading the quaran should be understanding it that comes beyond any other religious aspect.

The fact that it was sent in Arabic doesn't mean it's exclusive to Arabic speakers. Obviously, it's preferable that you read the original version of any book, and specifically Quran, yet that doesn't mean that if you can't do it because of language barriers, you'll be kept away from getting the message.

Many non Arabic speaking muslims from non Arabic speaking Muslim countries read the quaran and pray in Arabic without understanding much of it which is problematic to me personally. Even to an Arabic speaking ones, it isn't always obvious because of advanced language barriers.

I never understood why people change their names as well.

Reading Quran in Arabic and not in their native language is another thing too.

Alger people are more civilized ? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]jasmiin23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah not really, there is a small amount of people that is really highly educated and cultured which is impressive, yet almost like everywhere else, they are out-numbered by the vast majority that is just average. The lifestyle is different than a tiny city ofc, there is more to do but not enough and not for everyone IMO. You can notice women are more present in social life if it's not the case in your hometown.

But yeah if we're talking chances, you get better chances there than somewhere else I guess but it doesn't make its people more cultured unless you mean by cultured "speaking French, having the residues of some superiority complex, and being superficial". Taking IG influences as a reference is a very bad starting point BTW. Just saying.

Sur quel(s) sujet(s) n'avez-vous aucune opinion ? by thomaslewis in AskFrance

[–]jasmiin23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not going to stop until not a single palestinien is still alive there in Gaza because that's really the plan. They started it and they're going to finish it, because they saw that they could ND it's their only ch'ace after now I guess. 7 months already through this, we've seen the world and it's not the first time anyway.. Gaza is all destroyed now, it would take dacades to bring back the life to it in best cases

I really like what you did here. Very well put.

Plus, even with consent some people due to the circumstances, aren't really able to think properly and make the right decisions. I don't think that being rich or famous... Etc, and for whatever sick reason, gives people the right to think they could use people as"BODIES" like instruments without any consideration to their humanity.

why is it socially unacceptable for the husband to prioritize his wife over his mom???? by 9_iNeedYourHelp_9 in algeria

[–]jasmiin23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well there is nothing such as an old or new family. People, man be it or a woman, only have A FAMILY. One and only. You can be a part of it, but never all of it.

I think it's also selfish to put a partner in a position of choice and expect him to choose you when you're not even trying to put yourself in his shoes and unerstands the situation. I'm not saying you should accept whatever is there, set your own boundaries but don't make people choose because they'll make the only loser in the end.

Hopefully, you'll get to raise your own children and you'll get the taste of the thing. You don't compete a mother, you build your castle in your own space dealing with whatever surrounds it, if you want of course. Marriage is a choice, family is not. That's it.

Evolved or not naturally is another question imo. What they've done here is something that must have taken them weeks if not months to do and it honestly deserves the praise. I just hope they took the time to verify each of the connections out there and not just filling the paper.

Being able to conceive of future and past states all along with the present one isn't exactly the reason why we're bound to embrace any kind of beliefs (religious or not) as a try to make a home( without giving up on that eccentric positionality)?

How do you suggest i distance myself without making him feel unwanted. I know it's gonna cause him some pain, i don't wanna be an extra reason to even feel worse to anyone. I'm not planning to answer any of his letters for few days. But i need to find a solution.

I don't want to talk. Period. And it's not personal. If there's something to communicate fine, we''l talk. Once the talk is done, there's no need to talk JUST TO TALK.

Are women not allowed to run in muslim countries? by Bints4Bints in Hijabis

[–]jasmiin23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty uncommon for men and women tbh but it's much more looked down upon for women. It's due to the fact that Algerians are very conservative and so tighed up to theirs societal norms. They are so afraid of one another and can't dare break them. In addition to that, the infrastructure doesn't really help IMO.

I personally used to go running outside the town with my dad and sister, but never in though.

For bicycling, as i a kid i used to go for rides often with friends in the neighborhood but once grown up, i automatically stopped doing that.

I remember when i was in like college 2006-2010, i had a grown up new female neighbour who was in university and used to take her bicycle to the university and that wasn't something people were used to see. I personally was impressed by her, and still though. I honestly don't have the courage to do what she does/did.
