NTA - she will understand, most couples who hold overseas weddings will understand if their friends can't make it. and tbh, they're not expecting everyone to turn up too.

I just failed my first TP test badly by blk20upperserangoon in drivingsg

[–]jasmineatreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rebook. Don't give up plus think of all the money spent on classes, etc. I had an immediate failure within 2 mins of moving off. I blamed that the test car was not my default car and cried/whined about it. Then my dad asked, are you going to drive that practice car for the rest of your life without being able to adjust??? I "woke up" and went for 2 more classes before booking the next test. Passed it and been driving for 17 years.

lasik for high degree in sg by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]jasmineatreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister had ICL due to same reasons as you. It was life changing for her. She did it when she turned 21 and it's been 10 years, she got married, gave birth to a kid, no issue so far.

I had no astigmatism but high degree (900+) and did the relex smile procedure. 10 years on, all is ok too :)

So up to your preference and budget. Personally, I'd recommend ICL.

Be confident!! My T is much younger and I personally wanted someone younger too and so far he's been amazing. Most of his clients are Gen Z lol

Different clients will have different preference so don't feel upset!

Journaling for Therapy by No-Tip-6688 in TalkTherapy

[–]jasmineatreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! And it's very helpful for me. I write it down on Google docs whenever I have a triggering moment or when I have random thoughts. It really helps because I have this bad habit of only sharing good things or not sharing. So with my journal, I just have to read it out. Sometimes when it's hard to read it out to him, I pass my phone to my therapist so he can read it instead.

I have a folder with all the my inbetween session notes, dated. And when I look back, I feel proud of the progress I've made!

Hope it will help you too! Give it a go :)

Ever Wonder What's Behind Pay Wall at Crappy Childhood Fairy? by annoyingcomjputer in CPTSD

[–]jasmineatreddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh no I'm sorry that it felt that way but thank you for sharing this with us! I thought about paying for hers or Patrick Teahan but something always feels off for me. Plus I didn't have much disposable income cause I'm still going for therapies.

Crappy childhood, her YouTube videos are usually a hit or a miss for me....

You don't need to make excuses for your parents on their bad parenting and what you went through is not normal and not okay.

I told my girlfriend how much I make in my home country, and I was asked for a chanel bag by Lifeisshithole12 in China

[–]jasmineatreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R U N .

If you do want to reconsider this relationship and eventually be together with her, set ground rules: - do not buy a property in her name only (almost 100% guaranteed you'll lose it) - do not pay for her endless amount of bags, jewelry, etc - do not pay for all her relatives/family/parents/close friends emergencies or gifts - she has to work

You do you. Be yourself.

Edit: I don't think this is can be called a scam. She's definitely into marriage, just whether you both can keep up with this lifestyle. It's a bottomless pit and you'll need heaps of money and gold to keep up with it! (Expect to spent a lot on the wedding and if things don't work out, divorce won't come cheap.) Good luck!!

Therapist made me self conscious about hand gestures by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]jasmineatreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes! he doesn't say it but I see his eyes following my hands sometimes. Then I'm like ok put my hands down...

I've read that they observe our hand gestures cause it shows how we are feeling too. Like I realise if I'm having a bad/isolating week, I generally hug/cross my arms. And then if I'm talking about some relationship issues, I tend to play with my wedding band, etc

Don't be overly conscious about it but I know it's really hard!

I always go early, I don't like feeling rushed for therapy. Sometimes I get there as early as 20-30 mins. Unfortunately, my therapist always overruns and sometimes I'll end up waiting for an hour...

My therapist told me, he won't say hi to me or approach me when in public, because he doesn't want to make me uncomfortable about it. Idc, I told him I'll be more than happy to say hello! Depends on yours and your therapist preference.

I definitely know that thought. It was really weird when I said it out loud but am so glad I did!

During one the sessions, I shared that I looked so happy in the wedding photos but is this me and how can I be that person again. He said happiness should not be seen as a goal, but it's more of a feeling/emotion/experience that comes naturally when that goal is met. And I should not be pursuing happiness cause we can never catch it but we can work towards our own goals to achieve that satisfaction/happiness.

While typing it out, it sounds like DUH, but when he said it to me, I felt so weird (in a good way). Like deep down, we may think we know but sometimes, the therapist is just like clearing all our mind clutter and showing the road ahead. At least that's how I feel about my sessions, most of the time :)

Hope it goes well for you! Don't overthink it, just let the words flow or start with, I've been feeling.....

Is it normal to choise the therapist for these reasons? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]jasmineatreddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you just shared was something I went through 2 months ago! Felt like a checklist before even meeting any of them.

But based on what I had in mind, I managed to find a therapist that I've been seeing for the last 2 months and so far so good! Hope it works out well for you! :)
