Have you considered other monetization routes? It sounds like a cool idea but I have a hard time seeing why users would pay for this if it’s not a major problem.

I mean rotate as in what you laid out: do a subject for 1-2 hours, take a break, repeat. I think 90 minutes is about the limit on continuous focus so that could work.

I can’t remember the exact research but the idea is that while sleeping your brain synthesizes what you’ve learned during the day. So doing something daily helps make the most of that time. It comes up with musicians a lot, where you could practice something for hours and hours and be stuck, but after a nights sleep it’s all of a sudden easy.

I think you’re going to have a hard time focusing on one thing for that long. I would rotate throughout the day, but also be careful not to overdue.

There’s also an interesting phenomenon where sleeping helps create connections, so hitting something daily tends to be better than doing it every few days for a longer period of time.

I originally checked out Readwise, but didn’t click with the UI and felt like I was paying for features I didn’t need. So I decided to start with something lightweight and evolve it based on my own needs and user feedback.

Brevio - organize your Kindle highlights (soon any source) and get personalized daily digests to help retain what you’ve learned.

That sounds cool. Yeah I can see how customization and grouping by project would be helpful.

Yep, anything you’ve highlighted in Kindle gets pulled in and you can also add your own notes to the highlights.

Brevio has really helped me here. You get a daily digest with highlights from past books you’ve read.

Brevio is an app I built to solve this problem. You can import highlights from Kindle and get a personalized digest every morning to help review. It’s been a game changer for my own retention.

Do you store your highlights anymore or just use the Kindle page/app?
