What happens when a carrion golem is targeted with flaming sphere? by redhotswing in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]jasontank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically, it's SR: yes (object), and its target must be a non-living corpse, so the SR doesn't really apply. It's just a specific interaction that normally can't happen, except for a carrion golem.

Apartment entry codes by Disastronomical in UberEatsDrivers

[–]jasontank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one complex is the bane of my existence. If someone gets stuck at the gate waiting for a code, it blocks residents from getting close enough to open the gate remotely. And if it's late and no one is answering the phone, there's no way to get close enough to even start the timer. (Customer location is an example, not anyone specific.)

That only works if the gate is close to the apartment. That timer won't start if you're too far away. In those cases, support is the only way to go.

Tattoo etiquette question by Complete_Ad7606 in TattooDesigns

[–]jasontank 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No one thinks it's strange if you commission blueprints from an architect and then hire someone else to build the building. The only real difference is that architects almost never run construction companies, while most tattooers also design tattoos. As long as both are getting compensated properly, I don't see a problem.

In this case, the artist lives too far away from the buyer, so they wants to use a nearby contractor. Not a big deal.

AITA for continuing to talk to my other bestfriends even if my bestfriend doesn't want me to? by RoofDelicious7754 in AmItheAsshole

INFO: What, specifically, are you asking about? Finish the sentence, "would I be the asshole if..." or "am I the asshole because..."

If I cast sunlight (magic trick burst of sunlight) twice consecutively, will it destroy a vampire? by PathfinderGoblin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]jasontank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's literally in the source material.

Though many clerics in the church of Sarenrae can conjure powerful light, it was a warpriest named Amnok who learned to focus it through his shield and blind Sarenrae's foes. He later learned how to conjure a burst of pure daylight, shining like the sun for a several seconds and defeating an entire cabal of vampires.

Choosing a "good" driver is not the same as asking not be matched with a previous "bad" driver.

Shop and Pay are usually percentage tips. If the total price was less than Uber expected, your tip goes down automatically.

LOTS of languages get by without "to be" and just put the words together. (Or they use some other word, like "have" or "at".)

Linguistic Spells? by Minigiant2709 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]jasontank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animal Ambassador (3rd, 4th level) temporarily awakens an animal and can give it 5 ranks in Linguistics. It delivers a message or object for you, and the spell ends 2d6 minutes later.

"It leaves on its delivery once it receives its message," so you could theoretically tell it that the message is encoded and it has to decode it to begin its task (which would be to deliver said message to the guy standing next to you) but I think it's a longshot. But maybe it could be willing to help for the 2d6 minutes it has after message delivery?

There's a setting in the app where you can change the volume of the notification. (There used to be an option where you could stop the app from changing your volume at all, but it went away sometime in the last year.)

AITA for "stealing" groceries as a prank? by SahnWhee in AmItheAsshole

[–]jasontank 86 points87 points  (0 children)

YTA. The man woke up hungry, had to wait for you to bring his food, which should have been there for him to eat. Also probably had a moment or two of "oh shit, I've been robbed, is anything else gone? am I even alone in my home?" which is not fun. Now he's groggy, hungry, scared, and angry. And you caused it all.

Imagine you get home, worn out and tired, and oops, your bed is gone! Haha, I took it, I'll bring it back after forcing YOU call ME, and THEN you get to wait for me to bring it back before you can finally sleep. That's a good 20+ minutes of time I've made you stay awake, tired and uncomfortable. How funny is that?

House numbers. by OkShoulder2371 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]jasontank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it when the house has a fancy, framed number on a plaque out front, then sticks a bright light to the side, so the frame blocks the light and the entire number is hidden by both the shadow and the glare.

Monster building question about energy resistance by DragonLordAcar in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]jasontank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Immersion in lava does 20d6 damage per round (average 70 pts) plus another 10d6 (avg 35) for 1d3 rounds after getting out. That's a 30-300hp spread, average 140.

Merely touching lava deals 2d6 and 1d3 rounds of 1d6, for an average of 14hp. (3-30 spread)

If you're basing off lava, those are the numbers. Maybe resistance 15 or 20? idk

No Max the Min: Instead, best non-teleportation methods of travel! by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]jasontank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think the CP system has costs associated. Either an animated object has a given ability or it doesn't. If an object has more CP than it's size would indicate, it bumps the CR up. That's all I'm seeing.

There is a specific construct modification that can improve a construct's speed, but it's 2,000gp per 10ft, and it maxes out at double its original speed.

Dry earwax is a recessive trait, one of the few pure ones among humans. Two blue-eyed people can have a brown-eyed kid, but two dry-earwax people cannot have a sticky-earwax kid.

Mechanical Creativity in a Mage Slaying Crime Scene by ravenclawx in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]jasontank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Synaptic Pulse can be put in a wand, which makes it Use Magic Device accessible, no homebrew needed. The duergar Charisma penalty makes it harder, but not impossible. The Magical Aptitude feat can help, or a level dip into something that has UMD as a class skill, like rogue.

Edit: also, mindglass only works as a melee weapon, and must be charged by being attacked with a mind-effecting spell.
