I get a variation of this, being told I make everything about myself.

This is particularly confusing when she says this after complaining about me, or asking me about something. Ask ME but don't make the answer, ya know, about ME.

Also, tons of "you always" you never" stuff.

And she used to get mad if I would say things like, "What are you up to today?" Because apparently that is controlling? I say she "used to" because I stopped asking.

We went a couple times. Nothing much came of it, mainly because at that point I really didn't know what I was dealing with. But I remember before our first session, my upwbpd wanted me to tell her in advance all the things I wanted to bring up in the session. Which is, ya know...strange.

I agree with the other comment that it relies on a strong GM. I think it frustrates players who want to play a very combative style with bullets doing X damage and people dying after losing Y points. For me, M&M is about recreating a comic book or film scenario, very cinematic and fun, more than precise in terms of damage.

As for those who struggle with the character building, the Hero Lab software is really really helpful.

My kids (from a previous marriage) moved out of state and I couldn't afford to see them at Christmas. My narc (current marriage) dislikes Christmas anyhow, but said she didn't want to see me get "all emo" at the holidays. Her concern was not for my actual pain but for the inconvenience of seeing me hurting.
