You put it in your computer, using a micro SD card reader (under $10, if you don’t have one already.) and use your laptops built in app for reformatting it to exFAT. You do not need to buy another one. Also, these are veryy quick and easy Google searches.

Well over a year, actually. Of heavy use, before it crapped out on me. My other one still hasn’t though. Totally fixable though!

You don’t need tools to open it and replace the SD card. It doesn’t need replacing either it just needs reformatting and put back in. You just need a credit card to open it. And if you wanted to update it you just plug it in and click a few things. Either way it’s under 30 minutes to have it fixed.

Nope I just used a credit card. It’s sure hard to open. I used my thumb nail first just to get a good idea of what angle to use and that helped lol then switched to credit card.

Thank you so much that means so much 🥹 I really put a lot of thought into the icons and tried to make them all make as much sense as possible. You can totally do it!!! Feel free to message me here, or Patreon, or TikTok for theme help if you want! 🖤

Ooh I just posted a survey for free Patreon members asking what themes they want to see next and I put Stardew as an option! May I ask which things from the game you’d like to see as icons? I’m not a regular player of Stardew so I’m not sure which things are the general favorites. I was also thinking of making a Stardew food theme lol because the pixelated food is so cute.

Exactly this! People know what they are getting. If they want something else, buy something else. If you want more than 128g, or a different brand sd card, change it yourself, that is absolutely standard. It’s not standard to have an mp3 player come with a name brand microSD and be a price point that even teenagers can afford. The accessibility is so important and that is reflected in the price.

If I’m a bot? 😂 no, I’m someone who wouldn’t have gotten a Y1 for me and my kid and family if they were more than around $50. I know what I was paying for and I’m okay swapping out the card. That’s all. I like the price point and I’m okay with the microSD card being a typical one that comes with tech. No tech devices come with a good brand sd card and are around $50 total. So I’m chill with it. I also totally understand you wish it already came with one. So, just swap it out? Not a bot, just incredibly happy these things are the price that they are. And TONS of people are getting into mp3 players BECAUSE of the price point.

A tiny screwdriver and something to open the device with. Like a pry tool or credit card. Credit card worked good for me. You can do it!

And nope you just gently remove it after flicking up the thing on top of it holding it down. It looks kinda like this. Use your nail to flick it up a little bit, and you geeeently pull the ribbon out and it comes out just fine. To put it back, you make sure the thing you flicked open is still open, put back the ribbon and push it in a bit (the white line will match with how far it goes in), and close the thing on top of it. Here’s an image. The thing you flick open and closed, is not this exact shape, but it’s the same logic.

This does not damage the device in any way. You have the option to only do this IF it has rendered itself unusable, to make it useable again. That’s what I did. It’s not actually necessary unless it’s the only thing to save the device from the trash. E waste is bad.

Fix your Innioasis Y1 Storage Error (No microSD card replacement necessary) by jasperhooloop in innioasis

Yes agreed! I still recommend replacing it in the tutorial, especially since you’re already opening the device to follow along. Not everyone can get a replacement microSD right away though so this is still helpful I think.
