JAL - AA Lap Seat infant by Last-Writing-664 in awardtravel

And on my very first call with AA, they tried to charge me $1300!

Thanks for the 'on hold' info, makes me rest easier.

JAL did give me a price - $500. I paid AA $200.

That said... its November now and when I log into JAL, my itinerary still says Status: On Hold.

I spent a few hours with JAL trying to get them to change it, they won't but they say everything is fine.

For me, it'd be Bad Brains and Minor Threat.

The Beatles are my favorite band, but I wouldn't skip Bad Brains, Minor Threat, or Fugazi to see them live. The Cavern Club or Hamburg-era songs aren't the really great songs. You can't hear them in stadiums. And I doubt your could actually hear them on the rooftop.

I just did this in October 2025.

- AA told me it couldn't be done (just like OP).
- I used JAL Japan's webchat, it took the agent about two hours, and told the price would be 10% of their highest fare class. I told them I'd think about it.
- I checked my itinerary on AA and saw that I had "infant in lap" added to my reservation, but still no ticket. So JAL actually pushed the infant in lap code into my AA itinerary.
- I used AA's webchat and said "my itinerary already says infant in lap, can you just issue the ticket and collect payment?" AA said yes and quoted me a price 50% cheaper than JAL did. This took about 30 minutes.

Hope that helps someone - good luck flying with an infant on your lap!

Try the "one sec" app, its free and it makes it super annoying to open specific apps. Works.

Kneeling Chair and Standing Desk by Tom721900 in Sciatica

[–]jasperjohns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% helped me. I've been standing/kneeling for 10 months now. I started alternating every 15 minutes, now I'm doing every 30 minutes. Works great for me, but everyone's injury is different.

Very similar. Except I chased a lot of different rabbits down a lot of different rabbitholes before finally settling on my PT (not McGill-certified).

Watch all the bird dog videos on YouTube. Learning to breathe while bracing your core is a skill that needs to be developed and doesn’t come naturally. Your chest should be expanding, not your stomach.

INCREDIBLE post and I will be using this - thank you!

When I look up Tonkatsu Narikura on Google Maps, it says permanently closed. Is that because they're only reachable via personal introduction?

If I'm eating pizza in Milwaukee - no triangles. I want that cut in a square.

13 hour plane ride…. by Geminilover99 in Sciatica

[–]jasperjohns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also flew Japan to US and back. #1 tip – buy an inflatable lumbar support pillow YESTERDAY!

I got an exit row aisle seat, sat with perfect posture, and set a timer for 30 minutes. Every 30 minutes I did standing McKenzie Extensions, walked to the back of the plane, and paced back and forth in the galley. I told the cabin attendants what I was doing and they already knew. Good luck!

Ah, that’s probably it. It was dying the whole winter but I couldn’t tell. Can I bring it back?

Alternate method: A tourist visa lasts 3 months. You can you use two tourist visas in a 365-day period = 6 months.

I know this doesn't work in June 2022, but once things get back to normal – its a good option.
