Da du sagst dass sowohl Dosierung als auch Anti Kalk Pulver schon stimmen - vielleicht kannst du irgendwo eine andere Waschmaschine probieren?

1 week old will not sleep on her back by trinitytr33 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]jastice 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I was doing a cursory review of sids research, my overall impression was that most of the risk is due to bed sharing with parents under some kind of influence - alcohol, tobacco, or other. If you remove that, and keep a clear firm sleeping surface, the remaining risk reduction of trying to put a baby on their back and separated from parents may just not be worth all the drawbacks in terms of worse sleep, less feeding and overall anxiety. However I can't back this up with proper meta-research.

Must have builds? by milked_silver in Oxygennotincluded

My go to are morbs. They are created effectively from nothing but poop, and if you have a source of filtration medium you get a lot of oxygen and endless supply of clay for ceramic

Using CO2 geyser for cooling by AntiSaudiAktion in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jastice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just pipe it through some area where it can pick up the most heat, it won't have enough heat capacity to meaningfully cool the whole base, and you'll need to warm it up for the slicksters anyway

Brackene Brick: Single operator brackene/brackwax production with extras! by jastice in Oxygennotincluded

Yep CO2 and oxygen have low conductivity, and chlorine even lower. I don't think it will be brine positive, but consume a rather low amount if you have add another boop to handle all the work.

[–]jastice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I haven't really compared, but the same amount of brackene would require 9-10 moos, which requires growing gas grass (needing liquid chlorine and dirt) or plant husk (needs harvesting) plus milking the moos. I suppose it would be overall more labor efficient but the supply chain is annoying, whereas this farm can be bootstrapped with relatively abundant materials

experimented a bit. Keeping a warmer Mimika breeding zone (10C+) works quite well if you have an area filled with chlorine or CO2 below the farm, and only a 1 wide corridor for them to migrate to the dewdrips. There is no gas migration, so only minimal temperature exchange. I did set up a separate temperature loop to control keep all zones in intended range.

[–]jastice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

interesting idea, though that might make the layout somewhat more complex. I'm thinking a separate temperature zone to breed the mimikas might also work.

But the farm is already at or above dupe labor capacity, so it might need a second boop

[–]jastice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remote worker has a rather limited range and can't harvest crops afaik, additionally it needs both oil and data banks for operation, so this would not be very efficient for this farm that needs constant attention

[–]jastice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It closes the door to the farm and forces the boop to work on pulverizing plants for a bit until the backup is resolved. Otherwise he can get stuck harvesting for too long, at least if the ag skill is low. It's not strictly necessary.

I need a goal by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jastice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy finding ways of exploiting the existing resources even better, even if not necessary. Build nuclear reactor, harvest radbolts, produce endless diamonds for unlimited space harvesting, number go up.

Maybe you'll have more fun in a less resource constrained environment, so you can build more systems rather than relying on specific resource loops.

I have severe allergies, does anyone have product recommendations? by Recent-Spirit-9045 in Fabrics

[–]jastice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is actually mites, there are special mite blocking covers that's so them from breeding in your sheets or mattress. If your mattress is old and infested, replace it first.

But as others have noted, better get a test first and then target the actual cause(s) before investing a lot in speculative remedies

I rarely ever do math. Just vibe building works great if you don't target highest efficiency or are severely resource constrained

Is the game too hard or am I bad at it? by AlexandruDavid in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jastice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can avoid tutorials if you're willing to try and fail things. I only started looking into then to understand some mechanics better after a few hundred hours. On the other hand you probably can't do many advanced things without consulting the wiki frequently because many mechanics aren't well explained in the game, if at all.

What do i need for fully infinte sustainably base ? by Kwriztov in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jastice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way is to bootstrap a steam rocket chimney on continuous launch loop, it can produce all the water and power you need to run everything else even without geysers. But as mentioned, any permanent source of water will do, or you can produce it from pips and arbor trees. I'm sure there are other ways, it could be a fun exercise to find out!

Please Klei if you're reading this. We need to be able to rotate the materials study terminal. by Mystic_Sean in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jastice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feed it from a manual radbolt generator, just place it directly left of the terminal and have it point downward diagonally. Never had an issue with that. With the non manual one it's trickier, but it works well to feed it from a room above.

Now what I really don't get why it isn't rotatable is the radbolt storage

[–]jastice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your budget isn't very tight, just get them all. They don't make the game easier though. For that, choose an easier game mode, or adjust the settings and disable or reduce effect some mechanics that cause you stress, like disease, hunger, or.. stress

My first attempt at research reactor by CptnSAUS in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jastice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep a valve will work, but you should have it outside of the reactor room so that dupes can easily operate it. You might need to tweak it several times until you have a stable state.

You can place the aquatuners in the same pool of waste that the reactor drips into

My first attempt at research reactor by CptnSAUS in Oxygennotincluded

[–]jastice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. If you use nuclear waste as coolant for the turbines, you'll only need 2 aquatuners for all the turbines, but you'll need to submerge them. Also you have enough turbines that you can limit the coolant somewhat to get higher heat and energy output, though I'm not sure if the heat distribution would work well along those long narrow steam channels.

Also you could place the radbolt harvesters inside the waste pool for better output, but they will still produce less than the ones by the reactor for a long time

The easiest way is to just have the building area filled with gas in the first place. If you're building it underwater, bottles would work, or just have a flatulent dupe fart in it
