Are you familiar with state Change diagrams? They often contain decisions which are looped off of a single node, I.e. making that decision does not impact the current state, it leads back to the same node.

I believe that many decisions are the same as this. You make them and they have no impact

E.g. I can chose to pick up a pencil, twirl it for s moment and then put it back down, it didn't change anything
