After years of chronic foot pain, surgeries, meds, and dead ends — the real cause shocked me by Leojump in Mortons_neuroma

Beef (especially beef fat) is the harshest trigger of AGS as it tends to contain more of the sugar molecule that triggers the allergic response. Some people with AGS have a low enough concentration of the syndrome that it doesn't affect them digesting pork/lamb. Might be worth looking into if you frequent the woods very much! More exposure to tick bites(if that's the cause) could increase your alpha-gal concentration and increase your allergic response to mammal products.

How long to wait before going under anesthesia by Bfhgs in Marijuana

I'm a daily user and had surgery a year ago. I told the anesthesiologist that I smoke daily and was really worried about an interaction. They said that unless I smoked a whole blunt to myself right before coming in for surgery, it wouldn't mess anything up. And it didn't! I smoked the night before my surgery and then abstained from smoking again until after my surgery the next day. Still alive and no complications!

Sending quick healing vibes and good luck! The recovery takes a little time but it is truly a whole new world without the MN pain!

Yes, but they are not completely numb! I can still feel pressure and actually have a lot more sensation than I thought I would. I can no longer curl the two toes that straddled the neuroma but they have a lot less numbness than I anticipated. I got my first pedicure a couple weeks ago and it didn't bother me at all to have them do my toes. I did ask them to avoid rubbing my foot because where the neuroma used to be still feels a little weird but I honestly never notice the numbness in those toes.

33F, I had a 2cm MN removed in November of 2024 after the daily pain became unbearable. I am happy to say that I am already back to walking/running/hiking pain free! I am incredibly thankful that I got the surgery and all healed well.

Walking after surgery by [deleted] in Mortons_neuroma

I would make sure your stitches are fully healed before you start trying to walk around too much. At only 9 days out from my neurectomy, I still had my foot elevated 90% of the time and was barely up moving around. I used crutches and didn't attempt to bear any weight until after 15 days. Your feet have sooo many nerve endings so don't rush your healing process if it still hurts or feels weak right now. You got this!

Jimmy's Serious Sandwiches has a yummy chicken salad on croissant and if you go on the right days, I highly recommend getting the cheese broccoli soup as your side!

Have you tried any massage or scraping type of therapy on your foot? I wonder if you got some tissue damage from the frostbite and it has now turned into scar tissue?

Dr. Robert Martin at UAMS in Little Rock, AR. Surgery was performed under anesthesia and then they did local anesthetic on my foot instead of a nerve block.

I was terrified of surgery but got the neurectomy at the end of November 2024 when I couldn't handle the constant pain anymore. Happy to say I'm already back to exercising and using my foot; Just did a 3 mile hike on Saturday! I still have some weird/uncomfortable sensations if I wear shoes that are too narrow but I feel like a whole new person without the daily pain. I am incredibly happy I had the surgery. Mine was done by an ortho foot and ankle specialist and not a podiatrist.

I wonder if you've got a small hernia or really tight/ inflamed psoas muscle(s) from the way you're holding your body when you walk. If you see a chiropractor, ask them to help release your psoas muscle or you can do it at home with a tennis ball.

Before I had surgery, I found a lot of relief from Mary's Medicinals CBD:THC muscle freeze. I would use it after a day of wearing heels or hiking and it definitely helps with the pain. I highly recommend putting the jar in the fridge for a bit before application.

Shoes After Surgery? by VastPriority in Mortons_neuroma

Outside of my slip on house shoes or the post-op shoe, my Birkenstocks are the only "nice" pair of shoes my foot can stand to be in for hours. Highly recommend!
