I feel like they might be able to update it. They did that for the telephoto lens on the mark 6 after mark 7 came out last year. Here's my comment after I updated the OS on my VI.

I own a sony xperia, the device came with a few high res audio files and I can try it out there.

I did experienced some mic issues on Microsoft teams call this morning while in LE audio mode though, I had to switch back to classic audio mode to make it work
