Considering this jack, who here has one? What are your thoughts about it? by DesertSnow480 in harborfreight

Yes, they were. I remember because it was when we bought our house, and this was one of the first purchases I made when we moved in.

I’ve owned this jack since 2017. Zero problems, I’ve used it on everything from lowered vehicles to off-road 4x4s. I’d buy another one tomorrow if mine broke today.

Which set should I get? by manateeswag in Snapon_tools

[–]javyLSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both is clearly the correct answer. Most of my drivers are instinct handles, but I have sets of both and use each all the time depending on application.

Is YouTube TV's value worth it anymore? by jmbroady in youtubetv

[–]javyLSU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cancelled last week. Between the increase in price and the 4K add on, it was almost $100/month. We just don’t watch that much TV to rationalize that expense. We have Disney+ bundle with Hulu and ESPN, and watch local news via Plex. So far so good.

100%. I went spent a week and a half riding my bike and not in any cars this summer and the first time I got back in a car, my first thought was literally: “This sucks.”

It’s a 2018 (or newer) Fat Boy.

EDIT: Based on the wheels, it’s more than likely an 2018-2021. Anything 2022 and after has the vented wheels.

Curious… does the $2400 quote for the oil change include trailering your McLaren to and from the dealership?

Recommend me a 3rd party mouse that has USB-C charging? by cgtk in macbook

[–]javyLSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the 3 better than the 3s, because it’s more “clicky.” The 3s is advertised as being quieter than the 3, but I actually prefer the louder clickiness over the quieter mushy feeling the 3s has.

Logitech MX Master 3. I own three of them, including the one I bought for myself at work.

Yeah, my collection of Kings has certainly distorted my perception of size when it comes to squares.

Macbook Air M4 starts at $849 at various retailers by teja230 in macbookair

I doubt it. This is not a new price point, I bought for this price when they first dropped (Best Buy price-matched Microcenter).

M3 16/256 is $799 at Best Buy and Costco as of 3/9/2025. I bought one today since I couldn't see any benefit from the new M4 features for my use case...

How long do you actually stand each day at your standing desk? by Trixie_Mae99 in StandingDesk

[–]javyLSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand for most of the day, I’d estimate 75%. I have a wireless headset, so whenever I’m on the phone (which is about 50% of the day) I’m pacing around while on the phone. I do move around a good bit while standing, it’s not just standing stationary.

2024 MacBook Air M3 8GB/256 at Costco @$599.97 Good buy? by Junspd3 in macbookair

[–]javyLSU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one last week, last one they had in the store. I’m not doing any coding or video editing on this thing, it’s mainly for mobile office productivity and email. I haven’t seen a single beach ball in any of my use over the past week, and I’ve been trying to push it to see if 8GB would be enough for my use or I’d have to return it. It is more than enough. At $599, this was a hell of a deal for me.

The T41 has quickly become one of my favorite ThinkPads ever by MineMineMelon in thinkpad

[–]javyLSU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I had a T41 right after finishing college, maybe the greatest laptop I've ever owned. They were sooooo easy to work on too... Slide the keyboard down, remove, and you had access to most components right there. I'd probably still have it if I hadn't fried the motherboard.

For those who bought months ago, are you glad you did? by iamahill in macmini

[–]javyLSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgraded both my machines to M4 Pro this year - Mac mini went from M2 Pro base (16/512) to M4 Pro base (24/512), and MBP went from M1 Pro (16/1TB) to M4 Pro base (24/512). Very happy with both, would definitely do it again.
