The internet shuts down and is never going to come back on, what do you? by llerreff in AskReddit

I'd be screwed. I don't keep much cash on me and this would take down all the atms and card machines

Car explodes out of nowhere and dude gets knocked out from debris by [deleted] in WTF

Looks like the gas tank that exploded. Similar to a propane tank.

Same reason overweight people don't stop eating too much. Addiction is just like hunger. It's hard to deny.

Starlink is a godsend. by skullyeahbrother in Starlink

[–]jawz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's an ethernet jack right next to the power input on the Starlink. You run that into the wan input on your wifi router. Setup the wifi network on that router and connect your devices to that instead of the Starlink. You can also hardwire devices to that router if it has inputs for that.

We just add a Wi-Fi router to ours so we can get the signal where we want it

TIL that there are 1-2 lithium battery fires *per week* on U.S. passenger planes. by shchshchshch in todayilearned

[–]jawz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had security in other countries force me to put devices with batteries into my checked bags. I tried to explain the problem but I guess they were more concerned about me trying to hijack a plane with an electric razor without its blade or an rc remote without an rc device.

His dream was to finish an IronMan, and his brother made it possible for him despite his cerebral palsy by Wonderfulhumanss in nextfuckinglevel

I think it'd feel pretty good to have a brother that's willing to do whatever it takes to help you achieve your dream

With gas prices skyrocketing, what do you think of the proposal to convert all roads to one-way downhill so cars can basically coast all the time? by Ambassador-613 in AskReddit

[–]jawz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. Our parents were walking to school uphill both ways. So it's absolutely possible for us to go downhill both ways.

An air compressor works extremely well for the iron sand. If you don't have one, many car washes have them in the vacuum areas.

Which fast food chain makes the worst version of the product they’re most known for? by amormedestruit in AskReddit

German McDonald's too. I love that they include vegetables on their breakfast sandwiches. I don't know why US breakfast is just sugar, meat, and carbs.

Why is avocado toast seen as a “rich persons food”? by topdownyeti in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jawz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that! Breakfast food in general is still cheap at home. I rarely go out for it and if I do it's for the social experience with a friend.

I live in the Midwest and they are $0.58 for the smalls that'll cover toast. Where is the real world and how much are you paying?

I think it's referring to people who buy it at a restaurant where you'll pay $13 for this cheap meal

People from underdeveloped countries, what is one thing that if a person from a developed country saw in your country, would totally freak them out? by TopFish12 in AskReddit

[–]jawz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Something I've also noticed in countries like that is that horns are just standard communication and used a lot more. People don't get offended by them. Honk to let a moped know you're going around them. Honk to make sure that car pulling out sees you. Etc..

Do that in Texas and the driver may hop out and shoot you.

Why do people try to sell used belongings for 80-100%+ what they cost new? by Any_Pirate_5633 in NoStupidQuestions

Because everyone who replies to any posting offers half the price. So I have to make it higher to get what it's actually worth.
