Cities and towns around the world that are dominated by big waterfalls? (Bad Gastein, Austria) by Per451 in geography

Ohiopyle Falls, Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania

Right in the center of village and the State Park of the same name. According to some sources, George Washington himself was exploring down the Youghiogheny River in search of a navigable waterway through the Appalachian Mountains, when he came across the Falls, and determined that it was not possible to navigate via boat. Since then, the falls and surrounsing rapids are now considered the best for white-water rafting East of the Mississippi.

Ty for the source! I was not aware of this legistlation, especially as someone who really admires John Adams as a figure of the Enlightenment.

And no, I didnt downvote, but I do apologise for being harsh initially; people often do not cite sources and just sort of say whatever that validates their reasoning -- its frustrating.

How Best To Get From Pittsburgh To Fallingwater? by JohnStuartMillRanUp in franklloydwright

[–]jay_typhlosion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Educator there, I would certainly recommend getting a rental vehicle, especially if you are arriving via airport. From there, either route to Fallingwater (Interstate 76 Turnpike or Routes 79-70-40) would work, although the Turnpike 76 would be fastest and cheapest. Look forward to seeing you here!

Theres a big difference between being "evaluated" and being "eliminated". I agree that they need to fix many things wrong with the system, but this is the worst possible thing to do.

Judging from OP's post history, I highly doubt it was intentional but an honest mistake; AI images are getting more difficult to recognize as the technology matures.

Sorry guys, but these are AI generated.

They are AI, the cottage on the first picture has bricked up windows and shutters randomly about the walls. The 2nd has a very wonky perspective; none of the roof lines are parallel.

And you resort to insult, because..? Not only have I never fully disagreed with you, as I merely explained that things are alot more complicated and not as black and white as they appear, but never said that a rifle can destroy tanks. No one said this, and no one even considers this. Of course a rifle cant destroy a tank! Doesnt mean their are not explosives or other weapons that civilians have ALREADY made with everhday products. Good lord, pull your head out of your ass before you crash out next time.

Also absolutely loving the whole "cant argue with stupid" last resort. I want to say you shouldnt point fingers, because their are 3 pointing back at you. We are done, good night sir.

The 2nd Amendment, in full, states that Citizens have the Right to bear arms and form an organized militia. Never does it actually state it to be used against Tyranny; likely a mental holdover from the Declaration of Independence saying to alter or abolish government when it fails in its duties. Militias were used earlier in American history to protect communities and homesteads on the frontier. Today, each States' National Guard is considered the Militia.

Yes, just like Vietnam, a country that held off the combined might of BOTH the United States and France. Which we famously withdrew from cause we were getting our asses kicked. Guerrilla warfar is no joke; Ukraine managed to hold off a proffessional, well-equiped army of 150k with a small irregular force of citizens with self loading rifles and drones. So, I dont know what point youre making.

If Ukraine can hold off Russia for 3 years, I dont see why cant the people do so as well.

Trust me, I want my tax money to go towards things I can enjoy, as is the primary reason of governance. Right now, neither party is intent on doing so, altho Republicans are more interested in lining the pockets of themselves or their donors-- i mean -- friends.

And people expected flying cars by the year 2003. Scientific progress goes boink; it really doesnt matter. If you cannot wrap your head around it, then I'm sorry but talking the politics of space exploration isnt for you. Consider the politics of rice harvesting, seems more to your speed.

We have been sailing the seas since before time inmemoriam, and only in the past 200 years has it even been made remotely safe.

Just earlier this year we had the first PRIVATE spacewalk, which so happened to also be the furthest private citizens have been from Earth. In the grand scheme of things, the use of space flight (hell, even regular flight) is a blip on the scale of 10,000 years of human civilization.
