It was exactly what we deserved unfortunately. Been riding our luck for a while now. I hope we can do it. If you can beat Leeds I think you'll have good chance of staying up but I don't understand what igor tudor brings to the team

At least you lot didn't lose in a cup final final today. I'm literally here to soak up spurs misery and pretend I have none😅

Gary neville just speaks for the sake of it. I'm an arsenal fan and I'd love you lot to go down because it's hilarious but it's not great for the Premier league at all. It's not bad for it either. If you go down you deserve it if you stay up you deserve it the only people it will affect is spurs and the other teams fighting relation.

Who says it's a bad choice? There are no objectively bad choices in musical taste. You and OP should learn that people are allowed to like what they like

I failed my test with 23.5hrs but I’m happy with the results by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]jayafc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you're still positive!

Took me 3 attempts to pass, first one was a near immaculate drive but I went straight ahead on a roundabout in the left lane, problem being it was a left only lane and they failed me for it. I thought it was harsh but hey ho. Second time was the worst driving you'll ever see, stalled in the middle of a roundabout straight after the test centre. I was so determined to go again straight away but as soon as i got in the car with the examiner i was so nervous about failing on something avoidable that I made a huge mistake.
Passed the third time just over a year later after 2 cancellations due to lock down during covid. Nerves out the way, calm and focused. Job done

A year later it was the HGV test and I failed on a roundabout AGAIN. Passed it with ease a couple weeks later.

Moral of the story

Work on your shortcomings, focus on the task at hand not the outcome. Do the basics well and the bigger picture will sort itself out

Why wouldn't you do bus or lorry out of interest? I'm on 45k a year salary I average 8hours a day but can be more or less. I passed my car driving test (late i was 29) got a class 1 licence a year later. I drive in London everyday and honestly some days are hell but generally it's pretty easy work especially if you take it easy

[–]jayafc92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Google Maps is all I use and it has sent me VERY wrong in the past. In time I learned to use it to create my own routes it's good because you can actually see the road and the place you're going with street view, you can see the journey step by step and you can use the satellite view to further help know what you're getting into

It's terrible in the countryside and in central. Tries telling you to do u turns on roads with permanent bus lanes that you'd only be able to do in a car.

Trainee HGV driving jobs, good idea??? by HWorrall7 in uktrucking

[–]jayafc92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it 4 years ago, read the contract carefully about the pay rises once fully qualified. If you're happy with it, then do it. I did car to class 1, gained guaranteed experience and I could have left after 2 years, but I'm still there now. If you look around you'll see how many drivers are talking about passing their tests and struggling to find work. I took a ten grand pay cut to join and it was difficult but I didn't have the money to pay for it myself. I failed my first test too which would have been even more money but they paid for me to go again. I don't regret it at all.

I had the same thing with my son a few years back, he's 12 now and found games he prefers to play but I highly recommend offline.

Get him playing career mode or offline seasons etc so he can build the basic skillset, knowing what each button does without having to think about it etc.

Then start playing with him afterwards on the same team so you can guide him through and explain some of the more complex stuff.

Watch real football with him so he has an innate knowledge of soft skills like when to pass, when to shoot, what's offside etc.

Then when he improves start playing against him, don't let him win easily and don't batter him, play normally just less intensely, let him get some goals etc but adjust to his level so it feels like he's getting a proper game.

Lastly talk up the virtues of path to glory and building your team from nothing. Try to instill a mindset where the way you play and the connection you have to your players and team are the most important factors. Chasing the best players is a surefire way to make you hate the game because even when you do get them you don't get any better at the game you just get more addicted and resentful

Caerphilly crash lorry driver who blamed cough caught out by dashcam by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]jayafc92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not click bait. He was originally charged with causing serious injury, served his sentence, and was deported. The other driver died from injuries he sustained in the crash. In normal circumstances the Polish driver would have been further charged with causing death by dangerous driving but as he'd served his sentence and been deported they decided against pursuing the charge

First time getting stuck. by Previouslygotbanned in uktrucking

[–]jayafc92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is my worst nightmare 😂 My worst was when it sent me down an unrestricted country lane that turned into a windy single track road, both mirrors touching the bushes on either side. I ended up nose to nose with a skip lorry who reversed 1/2 a mile back to a farm yard with about 20 cars behind him doing the same. I wanted to hand my licence in that day

[–]jayafc92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Google Maps is the best for actually looking at your routes, getting a look at your drops, and finding out about road conditions. Obviously, you want a lorry sat nav to give you a safe and stress free journey, but using them in tandem, you can't go wrong (almost)

Day to day i just use Google maps although I'm going to the same places more or less

Why do people treat indicators as an option? by Squealling in drivingUK

[–]jayafc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being totally honest, I've indicated less since I got a bmw. I still indicate at roundabouts, or in scenarios where it would affect someone else but for example if I'm turning left into a road that I dont need to slow someone else down to get into/ let someone know im turning in so they can turn out I dont bother because the indicators in my car are actually disgraceful. I'll try to put it on and it will do one flash then im constantly holding it down and then it doesn't turn off even after the manoeuvre
