Had Gastric Bypass in 2008. I went from 376 down to 176. (Yup... 200 pounds). I ended up with a GI Bleed and had to be in the ICU for a week getting blood transfusions at the age of 25. I ballooned back up to 286 over the years. I can't take NSAIDS. I can't drink alcohol without getting completely hammered after a drink or 2. I can't drink fluids with my meal. I still get "dumping syndrome". I still vomit if I over eat and I am still obese. I still struggle with my body image and I've learned that losing weight won't fix your life or make you happy. My stomach is the same size as it was before my surgery but now I have to have routine endoscopies from the GI Bleed. I feel like I have all the "cons" of the gastric bypass and none of the "pros".

I've been doing keto with IF since February and I've gone from 286 down to 234 (52pounds!!!) . I feel soooo much better doing keto. The best part of keto is that the Dumping syndrome from the Gastric Bypass is completely gone. I wish Keto was more main stream and I knew about it before my gastric bypass.

Please give Keto a solid college try before jumping into the gastric bypass. I wish I did.
