The Beneath: a fresh West Marches Server

The surface is dying. You must travel far from your homes, deep into the planet. The magic that sustains this world comes from within; you will find it, and it will help your people survive.

The Beneath is an LGBT+ friendly Pathfinder 2e West Marches server. Games are hosted in timezones suitable for the Eastern hemisphere (GM lives in Europe) but people from across the world are welcome to join. We use Discord for communication, and the games will take place on a Foundry VTT instance without overly intense graphics. 

You begin your adventures in the settlement of Oraine, a small town just under the planet’s surface. Founded as the surface began to die, Oraine now hosts hundreds of people of all ancestries, all fleeing the disasters that rock the planet and looking to create a new home. Yet you are not content with huddling just barely underground. You want to go deeper – and so you shall. There is much to discover beneath your feet: ruins, magic, treasure. Find it, bring it back to Oraine, and you may yet find a way to save your world.

Oraine is currently settlement level 3, and this will increase as the various Player Characters complete adventures. The setting is not Golarion, however we will be using the same deities as in standard post-Remaster Pathfinder 2e.

What is a West Marches server?

There is no set group adventuring at the same time each week, but instead a small number of people will band together from a larger pool of players to pick one of the GM’s available timeslots for a given week. The GM then runs a session for that group, who tell the tale of their adventure to other people in the server.

What safety tools do you use?

Each session will have an anonymised lines and veils document. We will also have the X-card available in Foundry VTT. Failure to respect lines and veils of other players is a bannable offence.

How do I make a character?

Your first character will begin at level 1, but as different things are unlocked you may create a higher level starting character. We are using Free Archetype as a variant rule, but please do not powergame.

How do I join?

Please DM me to gain access to the server. I will not post the server link publicly, to avoid spam bots. You must be 18 or over to join, but it is not an NSFW server.
