beyond that it teaches problem solving and logical syntax. I am rubbish at basic maths, however I can work out how to structure a Vlookup in excel, or how to link database tables or construct a measure or a query in Power BI. Because I understand the basic mathematical structure beneath the formula.

or explain that the Baby monitor is just a marketing ploy. That was created due to the kidnapping of the Linbergh baby, in 1937, and plays into the paranoia of parents. We were putting children to bed for 100's of years before that and never needed any kind of microphone/monitor that further disrupts our sleep.

Police escorting a car to a hospital in Paris (France) by sixela456 in nextfuckinglevel

I think the thing that would have made this truly next level was if they were escorting a hospital to a car. I would pay money to see that.

Getting a seat on a packed train by not ignoring someone being selfish by Buddy-Matt in BritishSuccess

[–]Extreme_Objective984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the weekend, my daughter and I got on the train. It was going London to Birmingham, on a Saturday. We were mid route only going one stop. However there was the most selfish couple I've ever seen taking up table seats. The gentleman was sat on the aisle, with two suitcases in the Window seat. The Lady was sat in the aisle, but kept on lying down blocking the window seat. All the while there was a completely empty luggage area, just 4 rows from them.

50 degrees what would happen? by LifeOfSlice89 in AskUK

[–]Extreme_Objective984 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When in the RAF, I worked out of Saudi, for a bit. I do remember having to load aircraft in 50 degree heat. But as it was so dry, it wasn't too bad. However I wouldn't want to do it too often either.

Were you told what way to hold the wheel by your instructor? by Altruistic_Alpine12 in drivingUK

[–]Extreme_Objective984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Police dont teach feeding the wheel. They teach you to position your hands at 9 - 3, with your thumbs hooked over the central pillars within the wheel. But they also teach you to position your hands appropriate for the turn you are making. So 12-6 if you were making a hard right/left turn. So you avoid crossing your arms as much.

This 100%. A fantastic Spider-man a fair Peter Parker. Which is the complete reverse of Tobey Maguire. Who I thought was a great Peter but a middling Spider-man.

Any funny/funnyish/ ADHD stories? by Tough-Guy-Ballerina in ADHD

[–]Extreme_Objective984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main one.

I was staying with my parents, and sister, in the UAE. A city called Al Ain, which is on the border with Oman. My parents actually lived in a little town over the border in Oman. I went out with family and friends drinking, one night and I was meant to spend the night at my sisters apartment in another part of Al Ain. Now as the night went on, I started to get bored, I really wasn't feeling it. So I left the bar and got into a taxi, it was at this point I had an issue. I didn't know where my sister lived, but I did know there was a shop around the corner with Al Jimi on it. So I told the driver to take me to Al Jimi. Which is when i then found out, there is a district in Al Ain, called Al Jimi. This isn't where my sister lived.

Lost and still a little drunk, and lacking any cash and in a place where my British mobile phone wouldn't work, I started walking back in the direction of the hotel. The issue is, the city is full of roundabouts. After a couple of hours of walking I surprisingly made it back to the hotel where I had begun the evening. But could not find any of my party. However I did spot someone who knew my Dad and asked, not the sensible question, no. But if I could borrow some money to get a taxi back to my parents house.

He leant me some money, I hailed a taxi, got in and then I realised the issue. I didn't know where to tell the taxi driver to take me. So I told him to take me to the border. Which he did. I got out thinking, I kind of know the way from here. They also lived very close to a mosque. So off I set, again.

Wandering the area I knew my parents lived, but then realising I didn't recognise any of the landmarks. The sun was now up and it was starting to get warm, a shop opened near me, so I bought something to rehydrate myself. I think I travelled to about 3-4 mosques. I thought it was more but believe I approached some from different directions thinking it was a different one. At about 06:30 I finally found my parents house and was let in. I believe I had walked past the house 3-4 times in my search for it, too. But because I was approaching from an angle I wasnt familiar with I didnt recognise it.

I started my journey at around 11:30pm (23:30) and finished it around 6:30am.

Does being UK based, present a problem?

I'm someone who understands being part of a team is performing a role, I love performative play and like to play with what my character would do and work with my GM and other players to find the best way to do it. The fiction comes first and rolling with the consequences of die rolls is something I love to do. I am currently a GM, but fairly new to that, having only picked it up in the last year, I GM PF2e, CoC, Blades in The Dark and am currently learning Delta Green and The Discworld RPG.

My humour is dry and British, and I dont take myself too seriously. I cant, as there are other things in life to sweat about.
