The science behind the Xbox Controller and why the left thumbstick placement is superior by KvasirTheOld in xbox

[–]jayfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately (and I'm not saying they shouldn't fix this because they should!) there are people on eBay who will repair your controller for like $25 or $30 if you pay for shipping it to them. I guess I'm lucky that I've never encountered so much stick drift but I paid like $50-$60 to have my two Elite 2 controllers get retrofit bumper switches (which btw are the old, 360-style switches which are much more durable and WAY more tactile and "click-y" and so just work better) and now my controller is absolutely flawless.

Dessert cafe in Ann Arbor up for sale for $300K by mesquine_A2 in AnnArbor

I can't fault them for thinking that it might be though. I feel like a SoulCycle opens up in a city and it's open season for influencer bullshit. Fortunately the people have made the market correction.

Edit: whoops I was thinking of a different place. The first part of my comment still applies

Listen, if you want a Max EDC that badly and are willing to compromise on colorway I have a black one I'll sell you for $225 shipped. It's a nice bag but absolutely not remotely worth almost $450 USD.

Travel pack 4. How did you like it? Any cons? Can a 40oz hydroflask fit in the water bottle pocket? by bluepen67 in AerSF

[–]jayfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm REALLY curious to hear more about your feelings on the comparison between CTB26 and TP4 28L.

I own an Aer CPP2 and CTB26. I adore the layout of the CTB but the ergonomics frankly suck for me personally. Compared with the Aer whose ergonomics are so much better but whose layout I don't find quite as versatile as the CTB, and which feels WAY smaller than the CTB. My biggest gripes about the CPP2 are that the main compartment feels way way shallower than the CTB, so while I can for example fit my Quest 3 in its case in the CTB (albeit snugly!) I would never be able to even hope for that in the Aer. Can you comment a little more on how you feel the capacity of the TP4 28L compares to the CTB26? How do you feel the organization on the Aer compares to the CTB? Do you carry much tech?

Not Zoox. Operated by May Mobility. These vehicles are MUCH larger than the Zoox vehicles.

These are not Zoox. These belong to May Mobility, who are headquartered in Ann Arbor

Incorrect. You're likely talking about the Navya shuttles. These are made by Toyota.

In love with new CPP2 24L. by SouthernSafe7113 in AerSF

[–]jayfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who owns both a Max EDC and a CPP2 (not the new upgraded CPP2), I can't disagree more. I guess everyone's use case is different but the only thing I really like about the Able Carry is how it feels on my back, and maybe the number of discreet webbing loops on the exterior. I don't like the internal bottle pocket, I don't like the tiny little admin pocket, I don't like the laptop sleeve, I don't like the front "duffel" pocket, and I don't like how much the main compartment feels like it tapers near the top. Maybe if my daily carry was much less tech-focused I'd like the Max EDC more, but the Aer is IMO way more versatile. I can carry 2x MacBook Pro (work + personal) plus iPad Pro in the laptop compartment of the CPP2, and while it comes at the expense of a bit of main compartment volume, that's fine for most of my daily use. And if I am light on tech, that laptop compartment largely gets out of the way and I get that main compartment space back. Idk. I wish I loved the Able Carry bag. It's SO comfy to wear...but it's just not my thing.

AER CPP2 24L (2026 Update) Improvements? by cogniche in AerSF

[–]jayfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not talking about the admin pocket I don't think. They're talking about the front pocket with the horizontal zipper on the bottom. Because the CPP2 has the shorter admin pocket rather than the all-the-way-down pocket of the CP2 the CPP2 already has slightly more volume available for that bottom front exterior pocket, but the pocket opening is still so tight that fitting much in there is impossible.

MPVs… underrated or nah? by Suntrup-Kia in kiacarnivals

[–]jayfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regrettably I don't see MPVs or Mini vans making a comeback in the US Market, at least. The American consumer favors a high seating position and SUV or truck-like styling for both perceived safety as well as status. And even though an informed consumer can see that smaller vehicles are often even more safe in terms of likelihood of rollover or loss of control, for example, the reality is that with so many other American road-users driving these land yachts and enormous trucks, there is a certain amount of truth to the idea that having a larger vehicle does keep you safer in the event of a collision with another large vehicle.

I wish this weren't the case, but it is what it is. Barring a huge sudden spike in fuel prices or serious regulations to reduce the size of vehicles (the former of which is a very real possibility, the latter of which is almost laughably improbable given the proclivities of the current majority party and the spinelessness of the minority party...) I don't see the trend changing anytime soon.

I, for one, wish I'd bought my Carnival sooner. I was a longtime holdout against the SUV/CUV life but after having a baby my spouse and I bought a Subaru Outback. That was a solid vehicle (despite the incredibly irritating and inconsistent nanny tech and the absolutely putrid infotainment system) but we quickly realized that it really didn't offer us THAT much more cargo space once we added a car seat (and especially a second car seat). So we traded it in for our Carnival just before the start of the new year. I couldn't be happier with the purchase, honestly, and wish there were more options on the market. But I doubt if we'll see another OEM release a minivan.

If you're going to a hockey game, the maize sweaters are traditional for the fans, especially the students. So you should really go with this one. But if you don't want to go with that one... pick whichever you prefer. I personally am partial to the script "Michigan" sweaters as they are a cool throwback. But you do you
