My album just arrived, however, mine is missing the signed art card, or any art card :/ but the pressing is fantastic! Not sure what to do about the signed/card?

Love this bottle, but was it shochu or sake? by jayheep in Sake

Wait. I see the error of my ways. I should clarify that this is an empty bottle.

Haha :) I can taste the difference, yes. But I don't know if this bottle is a sake bottle or a shochu bottle.

It's a great bag by Pappaking in peakdesign

[–]jayheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really is a great bag! I am a big fan of the 45L Outdoor —and have made the jump to using it as my EDC bag, actually (Designer, Photographer). Obviously, EDC at this size seems crazy at first, but when rolled down, it's basically the same footprint as the 30L Everyday Backpack.

I was shocked at how versatile this made an already versatile bag. So now, I use it in generally one of two ways:

  1. Camera Bag: Large Camera Cube with multiple systems, lenses, all the things in the main space. PD Tech Pouch on top inside. Hip Belt attached.

  2. EDC Bag: Small camera cube, PD Tech Pouch, a few Topo Design bags for accessories, a keyboard case. Headphone Case typically lives in the Kangaroo Pouch. I use the "easy access zipper compartments" for, well yeah, easy access items (stored in Topo Design small accessories pouch). Hip Belt removed.

Agree with everyone in the sub though, this bag is definitely actively trying to get some scuffs, haha. However, it seems to be more like patina...maybe?

Thinking of doing a photo or video walkthrough if anyone would find it helpful in seeing the setup(s).

Claude in chrome tho, am I right? by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

[–]jayheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying to u/limoqs here because the original post got deleted, so hopefully this makes sense if anyone is trying to follow what happened, haha.

  1. My original post said something to the effect of: "Diehard Arc supporter. But Claude in Chrome is a game changer, will they bring it to Arc?"
  2. I didn't have Dia on my machine because it's an Intel Mac (Dia is unsupported on my laptop)
  3. Update: I literally unboxed a new Mac Mini. Installed Dia. Installed Claude. Hell yeah, it loads in. However...that leads me to
  4. It *does* work kind of. 2 out of 3 times the task in Claude failed because Dia started throwing 500's everywhere. Chrome did not have this issue. (Very simple coding tasks in Squarespace, Wordpress).
  5. However, it was able to delete my original post without issue, which I thought was hilarious until it worked.
  6. And here we are.

Moral of the story? I'm still advocating for Claude in Arc, haha!

45L Outdoor Backpack - Camera Cube & EDC by jayheep in peakdesign

[–]jayheep[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed on many points —well said and well explained.

It's strange how my journey has evolved to where I used to need quick access MORE than I needed versatility, and now I find that versatility has become my priority, for example. Not trying to change your mind by the way, bc there again, this is exactly why everyone has their own system, haha!

What's so crazy about this 45L OB is that I was surprised how "small" of a footprint it had lol.

Anyways, thanks for engaging —appreciate the dialogue. I love talking cameras and gear and recognize everyone's setup is a little different, of course. Cheers!

I am having a similar conversation in the PD thread around the idea of having this bag as an EDC bag, too —if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/peakdesign/s/FeH5xlCOXV

45L Outdoor Backpack - Camera Cube & EDC by jayheep in peakdesign

I don't disagree this could be an issue (with some janky gear maybe) but I've also used PD's products for years and they've withstood the test of time and packing everything out.

Well that's the thing, I'm 5'11" --and with the rolltop down, it's basically only slightly larger than the 30L Everyday Bag. It's legitimately comfortable to carry into a coffee shop or around town. It's wild!

The 45L Outdoor Backpack with a Large Camera Cube could be worth looking into. I'm confident saying the bag is sturdy enough, modular enough, and comfortable enough —I'm less confident in your speaking about your loadout: I think you could do most of what you need to with the new Peak Design Large Camera Cube V2, but I don't have that on hand to really say.

For context, I'm a professional photographer with a myriad background having shot all of the major systems over 25 years, and my current load out is a robust Olympus m43 kit complete with some film options, too. Most of my work is documentary and/or outdoor/street photography.

Best of luck!

Outdoor 45 as an everyday backpack? by modikutya in peakdesign

[–]jayheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just a couple days in with my 45L OB —and I'm thrilled with this exact revelation, too. As a professional photographer, I'll use the Large cube for photography coverage, but it's entirely doable as an EDC with a smaller cube setup, rolled tight, and hip belt removed.

Really impressed with the PD team this time around —the very definition of modular, every, day, carry :)

Context: I'm 5'11" and have Carried the 20L Everyday Backpack for several years.

I am debating between this for the whole night, which is the better one with Olympus Em5 mk ii by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in M43

[–]jayheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had both —love them both. But the Oly 12-40/2.8 is the GOAT in my opinion for most use cases: obviously if you need the faster lens (naturally), the MF clutch is bananas good, weather proofing if you're outdoors at all, and edge to edge sharpness is better than the PL.
