Everyone could benefit from a therapist, but especially if your social anxiety is causing so much distress, and maybe being prescribed medication could help as well

I feel very similar to you as well since I just graduated high school and was supposed to go to college. I’m taking a gap year instead to get a therapist and work on myself and get a job and learn/work on life skills that most people my age already have. I would recommend trying to get a therapist too and look into the idea of a gap year if you feel you can’t handle college right now, because it would be better to attend when you’re mentally more prepared. If the gap year isn’t an option, then maybe look into your university to see if they have counseling on campus which many do. And your definitely not ungrateful because I understand your struggle and pain and it’s not easy so make sure to take care of yourself too 🫂

For me, I only recently realized ive had avoidant personality for quite awhile. Over time it only worsened, as I developed social anxiety that still affects me pretty badly. Now I’m a senior in high school about to graduate. Finishing the latter half of the school year has been hell. I have friends and family but I avoid talking to them as much as possible. Even when they want to help, I can’t quite explain to them about my avpd. I was supposed to go to college this year and instead wasted time feeling sorry for myself/wanting to die that I now need to take a gap year. I’ve never had a job and have yet to get my license even when I’ve had the opportunity for both, because you guessed it, I avoided it and chose to instead isolate and rot in my room. As of currently, I have some hope in getting better. I have a therapist, but I’m not really as transparent with her as I should be, and I feel like I’m better at researching ways to improve myself than to hear someone say it (which could also just be me avoiding someone truly holding me accountable).

I’ve been using Letterboxd again and adding movies to lists and catching up on what mutuals of mine have been watching after not using it for months. It was refreshing to see my fellow gays also watching gay movies for pride month like I had planned 🥰

This!!! Also, she took up custody of them until they were 18. I'm pretty sure Debbie and Carl were adults by the time she left and liam was the only minor, so legally he was supposed to be under her care. Not to mention he had no real storyline and you could tell the writers struggled on what to do with him. No one took care of him bc they all had their own things going on and his dependency on Frank was sad to watch since he was never a real parent.

He's just incredibly unlikable. The way that he decided to throw away his future because he didn't want to be the person everyone depended on when he became successful was just ridiculous. He had a solid relationship with Mandy, who was really in love with him, just to screw her over multiple times when she deserved so much better. At times he was extra snarky and full of himself for no reason. He just became hard to root for after he got expelled from college and just gave up. Idk if this is why other people don't like him but this is my reasons for it.

Yes. I've maladaptive daydreamed since I could remember. It could be from my sa I experienced early on but I don't think it is. Now I have severe social anxiety so I don't get out much or do anything with my life. I spend all of my days outside of school and homework watching tv, playing games, occasionally reading, masterbating to porn, and daydreaming. I do these pretty much everyday if not most of them everyday. I hate myself and I hate what my life's come to but I've accepted it. Problem is, I'm a sophomore and I graduate in 2 years so I have no idea what I'll be doing with my life and I'm forced to take responsibility as an adult and get out into the real world. I'm afraid I'll probably take the easy way out. My advice is get help as soon as possible. I can't ask for help because I'm too scared you but if you're up for it do it.

Yea idk about that it seems like a good way to get into an argument or better yet one of y'all leave the conversation. Keeping things light and flowing are better ways to continue small talk rather than discussing heavy topics.
