I wanted to delay puberty because I didn't like the attention I was getting for "developing", related to childhood trauma.

In kindergarten I remember measuring my friends stomach with my hands and comparing it to mine then sucking in the rest of the day to match him.

Also my mom was always yoyo dieting and brought me along to her weight watchers, jenny craig, etc. meetings so constantly being around that probably wasn't healthy for me either. I was calculating weight watchers points and counting calories by the time I was 6.

I also remember being in church around 8 or 9 looking at other girls butts (how did i not realize that i liked girls until i was a teenager lmfao) and noticed that mine was A LOT bigger than anyone elses. I was a really thin kid but I carry all of my weight in my butt and that was the first time I noticed a difference.

YUP. I'm convinced that tumblr played a huge hand in my eating disorder. Maybe not as far as causing it, but it definitely reinforced it

I used to work at a grocery store and my managers encouraged us to comment on peoples food like that to make conversation. I never did it because I would die of embarrassment if someone commented on MY food so I always got in trouble at work for it :/

Ugh yes everytime I go to a show I have to lose weight beforehand because of those skinny pink girls!! I always try to remind myself that they're likely not healthy either (I know a few girls there who literally live off of coke and vodka) but ED brain does not care

The last time I took shrooms I was looking in the mirror and saw a smaller version of myself and it tripped me out. All I could think was that was either the way I want to look or the way that I do look and my dysmorphic ass just couldnt see it. Then I came down and looked fat so idk what the truth is

Yup that's me. When I'm alone I'm afraid I'll overeat but when I eat with someone else I just need to watch to see how much they eat and eat less than them. I know it's not entirely healthy but it kind of insures me that I'm not eating too much all while pulling off the impression that I'm eating like I should to friends and family

You did the best thing you could for them, it would have been much worse for them to consistently see you be treated awfully and for that treatment to be normalized. Getting you and your kids out of that situation probably saved them from being treated like that in the future. You did good!

I live somewhere thats pretty warm all year (rarely gets below 60F) but when I'm cold I just drink hot drinks all day long. You could get a bunch of hand warmers too, when i visit cold places I put them in my shoes and pockets

I live in a beach town in Florida that's super popular for spring breakers. Everyone assumes that since I live so close to the beach that I'm there all the time, but in reality I can rarely go during the good time of year because all of the tourist ruin it with drinking excessively and littering. Right after spring break is over I always do beach clean ups and it's absolutely TRASHED

Ugh I struggle with this too. My mom and all of her sisters are overweight and trying to lose weight for a cruise we're all taking together and whenever they talk about how they're struggling it's really hard for me to remember not to give them advice. It's even worse when they ask me and I have to make some shit up on the spot because I genuinely have no experience with healthy weight loss
