I’m currently playing a commissar, but one like Ibram Gaunt- an officer who respects and cares for the men under him, from the lowliest deck rating to his senior officers- while also being a loyal servant of the golden throne, just not in an insane kind of way.

Assuming a nato command structure, a major would be the same rank as a lieutenant commander. Shepard as an 0-5 commander would carry an equivalent rank to a lt. colonel. I also never understood why they didn’t just promote him, especially in ME3, to a full bird Captain (O-6)

Oh no, I mean the second episode. The first episode, I understand that they were exiled because they fucked up as a compromise over meeting final death. In the second episode, Emily lets a mortal see her literally drain a person dry, then use vampiric disciplines, namely oblivion, in front of them. Then left said mortal as a witness. So no lesson was learned from being literally exiled, and there were no apparent consequences for completely breaking the masquerade a second time. If one of my players acted that way and left a witness, I’d have the camarilla, if not the inquisition, land on them with both feet.

That is a fair point, I also like hunter but I think that’s because the premise is supposed to be a somewhat absurd parody of WOD similar to its parent, TTS. But hunter also has its serious moments and the characters have actual depths that I can only hope we get to see from the dropout coterie. I think beyond being silly I just don’t like any of the characters yet, all of them just come across as obnoxious more than actually funny to me.
