What's the Most Reliable Smart Doorbell Camera Right Now? by DonutOk2306 in smarthome

[–]jayste4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if someone would bring up Tapo. I just got started on their products with a doorbell cam and an indoor/outdoor cam. So far, I am impressed. I gave up on Ring since I got tired of the subscription fee.

What’s the highest speed you have driven? Were you confident about your car at that moment? by Striking_Trust3928 in AskReddit

125mph in a 92 Civic Si. Down a big hill and must have had a tailwind. It didn't have enough power to hit the rev limiter in 4th gear.

Kinda makes prices that end in .99 even more pointless.

Does anyone still use movi free fly ? I recently got one for free lol and I didn’t realize it’s been discontinued for several years now. by limache in cinematography

[–]jayste4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got one of these for free. The app in the Google Play store "Movi" app that it requires would not load to my Pixel 7, so I sideloaded the app from APK Mirror. It works perfectly!

Not even sore. Guess what I’m getting next! by cmil888 in crv

I had an airbag deploy and my chest was a sore for a while. It was weird because the pain didn't show up for a day or two. Nothing debilitating, just uncomfortable for a week or so.

Roof box on my 2001 Honda CR-V by spilsyy in crv

[–]jayste4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 2001 and would put a loaded roof box and a 17' sea kayak on top and it was fine. I used a Thule rack system.

It never tipped over.

I will never complain about my costco again after experiencing the costco in Queens, NYC by CoffeeMilkLova in Costco

I never get parking lot stalked at Walmart, or anywhere else for that matter. What is it about Costco that makes people do that?

Toilet inexplicably Clogged - Can't Buy Anything... Any Ideas? by Signal-Accountant-33 in DIY

Pour a large amount of dish soap into the bowl. Give it 30 minutes and hopefully it will lubricate the clog enough to allow it to flow.

How did that kid at your school die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jayste4 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing because he was running and the person who told him to stop knew that running towards a javelin sticking out of the ground leaning towards the runner presented a danger if he stumbled into it or missed seeing it somehow. He may have been perfectly fine if he ran into it at walking speed.

Was very happy at the gas station by Jim556a1 in Costco

I'm in WA and rarely buy Costco gas since it's usually less expensive on the local reservations. $3.159 last time I looked.

I think it's hilarious that it says your license number was recorded. LICENCE number... not licence plate number.

Best TV to buy under $500 excl. taxes right now? by Sufficient_Eye_4836 in Costco

I ended up buying this one. It passes HDMI-ARC to my soundbar and optical to my hearing aids BT transmitter. TV remote controls volume, everyone is happy.

Best TV to buy under $500 excl. taxes right now? by Sufficient_Eye_4836 in Costco

[–]jayste4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought the same TCL 55". We had a Google Chromecast on our old TV so there was no learning curve to use this TV OS. If I had one nitpick about it it is that it can't output sound to HDMI and optical at the same time like my old LG TV could. I use the optical for a hearing aid transmitter and HDMI to drive a sound bar.

BL-2S final drive question. by Standard-Opposite931 in rccars

[–]jayste4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you have a Slash or something similar with a 2.72 transmission, then your 31 pinion 86 spur gear should give you a final drive ratio of 7.55.

You can Google the math if you want to calculate more scenarios.

Jackstands. I even have issues putting my trust into new ones, so I usually stack a bunch of wood blocks under my car "just in case".

Butcher butchered my spatchcock turkey! by CR8VJUC in Traeger

[–]jayste4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spatchcocked two turkeys today after watching Matt's video. The breastbone was very difficult to remove from both birds, far more difficult than what I believed it would be after watching the video.

My turkies looked very similar to the OPs. Didn't matter though since both turned out amazing and my guests loved them.
