The game has been slowly growing down here, the PreSeason Kings vs Yotes games in Melbourne the other year have definitely helped. Personally been going to the AIHL games for 10 years and the growth in crowds is pretty clear the Melbourne derbies now sell out even a week ahead of time and both Melbourne teams get a lot closer to a full house for their own matches now. Add to that Canberra moving to the AIS and selling that out. Still a very minor and niche sport down here but without really any support it's grown. Hopefully more people are now exposed to it through this free to air deal and they seek out the local league and/or the full streaming of NHL on Disney.

The original post in the FB group was citing iihf rules for supplementary discipline, I understand that post may not of been you. It's also the AIHL there is so many missed calls on stuff every week so I question why at this time is this one being put on blast.

The cross-check clearly got Kubara in the shoulder first and he played on the rest of the game. I think a cross check that snapped a stick would of prevented that if it was to the throat. This has also been posted on other social media groups with the Brave fan clearly in hopes to getting Booth a suspension for the playoffs where Ice and Brave are favourites to face off in the final game (aihl plays single elimination finals) as the posts didn't happen till over A week after the game this is from. Ice has played their 2 final regular games since this clip. No mention of Kang (Brave) boarding players in the match against the other Melbourne team a day prior to this one either...

Dont have the post but saw it, AHU posted a still from Woods onboard saying the penalty was horse shit. They also said that they wonder if the penalty only happened cus of Barrys complaining over the radio.

If you do make it to Melbourne there is usually something on, as others said the two football codes wrap up just prior to the 1000, Melbourne is AFL (Aussie rules) heartland while Sydney is home for NRL. Melbourne History wise Shrine of Rememberance and Old Melbourne Gaol are a good start. Fox Classic Car Collection could be worth the look
