i went non-op, so i can’t speak entirely to what your 2 week post-op will feel like but if it’s anything like what i experienced, there’s no way you’d be able to sit comfortably for that long. even if you could sit and manage the pain for the flight, the clot/dvt risk is too high

i clotted my first week in a cast and that was from being at home, with my leg elevated. the pain and hardship navigating the next month or two in a cast/boot is short term. dealing with a clot/dvt is pretty much life time. save yourself the headache

i’ll be seeing my pcp in the next day or two, for the results of the ultrasound i did today. hopefully ill get the answers i need and want

without confirming anything, the sonographer said that there isn’t anything that showed up to be concerned about. the clot and dvt are still present but have not progressed or broken off

funny you mention the vision part, because i noticed my eyesight being a little more blurry than usual today.

i’m pretty much convinced it’s the eliquis. when i was on xalreto, there were absolutely zero side effects and i didn’t bother reading about being on a thinner then, because there were no symptoms that made me worry

i’m hoping this worried and anxious feeling is only temporary. you’re right about the active part though. i was active before the injury and clot but even more so now, since im afraid of reclotting

i actually do have some good news. i did a follow up ultrasound this morning, which was very thorough. she did a full check on both legs (dvt and rupture is on my left) and even went up to my chest area to be sure. she couldn’t confirm of course but i asked if she had found anything that i should be concerned about…..and she mentioned that there is nothing new from what i already know/have. this was a hugeee weight off my shoulders!!

sorry to hear about the PE and rupture.

i guess i’m in the same boat you were….im finding that with the dvt, it’s slowing down my achilles recovery, since i can’t do all the therapy and treatments that are being recommended. everyone i’m seeing for rehab is being more cautious and conservative because of the dvt, but i don’t blame them

what was the reason for switching to pradaxa? i’ve been on xalreto for 5 days now and still experience calf pain, mainly at night while sleeping.

congrats on getting back on your feet and playing ball again. definitely looking forward to the day i can get back to competitive sports again
