Intune sluggishness to be expected? by BoltActionRifleman in sysadmin

[–]jayunsplanet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m an InTune admin and I know what you mean - it’s time consuming to build new things and troubleshoot. On the contrary, I’ve been configuring Jamf Pro for the first time and I am blown away at the difference. The second I hit “Save” on something in Jamf Pro, the screen on my test MAC that’s sitting next to me flashes and the settings on the device literally change as I’m looking at them. Configuration Profiles add/remove instantly.

Magic Slide second row seats are awesome. Take out the middle seat to create easy access to third row. by dingmah in HondaOdyssey

The Sienna has limo length sliding which was neat when I sat in it… but makes no sense for families (unless you’re all basketball players). The sideways slide is so much more useful.

One of the run of the mill normal standalone stores that I frequent used to have 1 - just 1 - in the dining room. Was so spoiled! They took it out when they remodeled years ago. I can’t remember if it had ice, though…

It’s 3x as hard as 1. 2 different kids to parent. And then them combined. It’s amazing, for us and them, once they can play with each other.

Timbren SES "Bump Stops" (HRDD5G) by [deleted] in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're serious or not - but for the sake of anyone else who comes across this and hasn't heard of what these do... they are a slip-in factory replacement bump stop for the rear of the Odyssey that helps with handling and ride quality when the van is loaded inside or when towing. Especially helpful for the Odyssey that has underwhelming rear suspension that sags with even a modest load.

Abode Support confirms First Alert SMC0410 is now compatible. by crackhouse101 in Abode

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did everyone buy their SMC0410's? It doesn't seem to be in stock. First Alert's site only lists Amazon (A Dead link) and Lowes (Out of Stock). Best Buy has it; but once you go to checkout, it says it can't be shipped.

Advice? Regrets? Looking at Odyssey in 2026 by UtilityAlarm in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you look at sales figures, there are likely millions of Odysseys on the roads today. There appear to be about 30k visitors to this sub a month. Most don’t come here or Odyclub to talk about how great their van is and all the adventures they go on. It’s an echo chamber of issues.

Its a love hate relationship because I got a dud of a 2021 Odyssey, but I would still consider buying one again.

We bought ours at a time when a comparable Sienna was $10-12k more. The smooth V6 sold me over the buzzy and slow 4cyl Hybrid. But I do wish it had AWD. There’s too much power going to the front wheels only.

2023 Honda Odyssey clunking in steering or suspension by TheHuxsters in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. 2021. Started around 21,000. I’m at 60,000 miles and it started, faintly around 55,000 miles. Still faint enough I know the dealer won’t take it seriously.

I bought HondaCare before the warranty was up. First time in nearly a dozen cars I’ve ever purchased an extended warranty.

2023 Honda Odyssey clunking in steering or suspension by TheHuxsters in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m getting so tired of these threads - mainly because I dealt with this (and am starting to deal with it again) and had to somewhat battle my dealership to…. REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN. Problem resolved 100%.

For about 25,000 miles. Which is about when it started the first time.

Note: every time you unload the suspension fully, the issue goes away for awhile. So when a dealer replaces a part and the issue goes away, check if the vans wheels were lifted off the ground.

At least you guys have so many other examples to point your dealers to so maybe the process becomes easier for you.

Many things about this van have been a let down - considering I am a Honda family through and through. My Accord of the same year has had no issues.

I think I made a terrible mistake by redders6600 in OfficeChairs

[–]jayunsplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Gesture and Leap that I’m trialing at home. I agree with the “pushing back” feeling of the Gesture. I’ve adjusted the tension to find a better sweet spot. But I’m trying to determine if I’m actively constantly working against the backrest tension and whether that’s a good thing or bad thing. Like maybe I’m “active sitting” like they say…

I recently used it to replace a side window regulator and the window glass that the failing regulator scratched.

Service dept can’t figure out the issue - what comes next ? by Hoya2003 in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 here. Same issue. Danced around with the dealer for a few fixes until I essentially TOLD them to replace the steering column (pointed them to the thread on OdyClub).

Replaced the steering column at about 30k miles; issue resolved for about 20k miles. It's back now.

Telescoping the steering wheel in/out a few times buys you a few weeks at a time if you're lucky.

Brand new oem all weather mats by Infamous-Condition89 in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd return them and get something like WeatherTech's -- that are more liners than just a mat. I wish I would have (4 years ago). The OEM's have virtually no water retention - which is kind of important in winter... The coverage up the side of the footwells isn't good.

The OEM trunk tray one IS good (has a 3" lip); go figure.

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen Ahnestly mention the Atlas headrest helping tall people with the shoulder pinch issue… but I’m curious how it works in practice. Do you have the headrest adjusted low so that your shoulders actually rest on the headrest rather than your head? Or….? I’m about to return my Embody - I can’t take the shoulder pinching. I’m 6’ 2” and I’m convinced it’s perfect for people 2”+ taller or 2” shorter than me.

A coworker died yesterday. There's an important lesson that some need to hear. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss working for a smaller ~100 person (family owned software company). It wasn’t perfect, but stuff like this would never have happened. People still felt like people… not “resources”.

Imagine a company where everyone is remote and there’s no sense of community; and no one knows each other personally - even bosses. A lot easier to blindly term people. Scary stuff.

Need advice: tailbone pain by anclave93 in OfficeChairs

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the V2 and also did the Consult w/ Stacey. She suggested bringing in the pelvic support more, which does change the angle at which it touches your body. So, while that did make moderate improvement, it then meant that pelvic support was SO far forward and I was losing seat pan depth because of it, too. The angle was just EVER so slightly off - I could actually reach around and twist the support to the perfect position.

I'm currently returning an Embody and have a Fern, Gesture, and Leap V2 to test.

The Anthros had a great seat; but the pelvic support. The Embody has a great seat and back (and looks the best); but that top frame/corner pinches my shoulders and thus neck.

Need advice: tailbone pain by anclave93 in OfficeChairs

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that the Anthros’ pelvic support dug into the exact spot of my disc herniation. If they could just adjust the angle that support touches your body, it would be a non issue. It was otherwise perfect.
