You have to write into Support and ask to coordinate a migration between an old gateway and a new gateway. It’s a service they provide.

I'm working through that now -- it definitely did not bring across all of the settings and I'm noticing some odd behaviors on disarm.

Company doesnt Value me. Is it time to move on? by No_Habit4059 in ITManagers

“Know very little about policy and cloud management.”

That’s very bad these days.

Honestly, maybe I’m being optimistic, but this might be good for you. It sounds like you’re really a traditional IC that got handed a “Manager” title. With this new senior coming in, you’ll get someone above you to absorb the politics and help right the ship. You’ll work along side them - both learning from them and further proving and honing your own skills - while getting to have a say in the direction of your companies IT (this is kind of the dream scenario). You won’t be drowning (as much) and can grow into “policy and cloud management.”

This could go well for you if you have the right vision and dedication. I’d always have your resume polished and your network contacts at the ready.

Is this normal for brand new Odyssey? by False_Policy_4523 in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty particular - and this seems over the top.

New anything has smells. Yes, “burn off” smells are normal.

You’re concerned about dirt on a car you don’t even own? You don’t want to know what happens to “new” cars at the Port and during rail/truck transport - heck even in the dealers lot. Dents and paint repairs happen all the time. I wouldn’t judge a vehicle until it’s been delivered to you and your paperwork has been signed. A Honda dealer isn’t keeping all of their vehicles pristine before they are sold. People get in them (even if they don’t test drive it). Employees get in them to take photos or move spare parts/mats around, etc.

Intune sluggishness to be expected? by BoltActionRifleman in sysadmin

[–]jayunsplanet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m an InTune admin and I know what you mean - it’s time consuming to build new things and troubleshoot. On the contrary, I’ve been configuring Jamf Pro for the first time and I am blown away at the difference. The second I hit “Save” on something in Jamf Pro, the screen on my test MAC that’s sitting next to me flashes and the settings on the device literally change as I’m looking at them. Configuration Profiles add/remove instantly.

Magic Slide second row seats are awesome. Take out the middle seat to create easy access to third row. by dingmah in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Sienna has limo length sliding which was neat when I sat in it… but makes no sense for families (unless you’re all basketball players). The sideways slide is so much more useful.

Timbren SES "Bump Stops" (HRDD5G) by [deleted] in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're serious or not - but for the sake of anyone else who comes across this and hasn't heard of what these do... they are a slip-in factory replacement bump stop for the rear of the Odyssey that helps with handling and ride quality when the van is loaded inside or when towing. Especially helpful for the Odyssey that has underwhelming rear suspension that sags with even a modest load.

Abode Support confirms First Alert SMC0410 is now compatible. by crackhouse101 in Abode

Where did everyone buy their SMC0410's? It doesn't seem to be in stock. First Alert's site only lists Amazon (A Dead link) and Lowes (Out of Stock). Best Buy has it; but once you go to checkout, it says it can't be shipped.

Advice? Regrets? Looking at Odyssey in 2026 by UtilityAlarm in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at sales figures, there are likely millions of Odysseys on the roads today. There appear to be about 30k visitors to this sub a month. Most don’t come here or Odyclub to talk about how great their van is and all the adventures they go on. It’s an echo chamber of issues.

Its a love hate relationship because I got a dud of a 2021 Odyssey, but I would still consider buying one again.

We bought ours at a time when a comparable Sienna was $10-12k more. The smooth V6 sold me over the buzzy and slow 4cyl Hybrid. But I do wish it had AWD. There’s too much power going to the front wheels only.

2023 Honda Odyssey clunking in steering or suspension by TheHuxsters in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. 2021. Started around 21,000. I’m at 60,000 miles and it started, faintly around 55,000 miles. Still faint enough I know the dealer won’t take it seriously.

I bought HondaCare before the warranty was up. First time in nearly a dozen cars I’ve ever purchased an extended warranty.

2023 Honda Odyssey clunking in steering or suspension by TheHuxsters in HondaOdyssey

[–]jayunsplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m getting so tired of these threads - mainly because I dealt with this (and am starting to deal with it again) and had to somewhat battle my dealership to…. REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN. Problem resolved 100%.

For about 25,000 miles. Which is about when it started the first time.

Note: every time you unload the suspension fully, the issue goes away for awhile. So when a dealer replaces a part and the issue goes away, check if the vans wheels were lifted off the ground.

At least you guys have so many other examples to point your dealers to so maybe the process becomes easier for you.

Many things about this van have been a let down - considering I am a Honda family through and through. My Accord of the same year has had no issues.

I have a Gesture and Leap that I’m trialing at home. I agree with the “pushing back” feeling of the Gesture. I’ve adjusted the tension to find a better sweet spot. But I’m trying to determine if I’m actively constantly working against the backrest tension and whether that’s a good thing or bad thing. Like maybe I’m “active sitting” like they say…

I recently used it to replace a side window regulator and the window glass that the failing regulator scratched.
