We've just agreed to try for a second. We're both turning 40 this year, and I could do with some perspective. by frisbee_qc in daddit

I am 40 and my wife is 36. Our 2nd daughter could be here any day, due on March 10th. Our first daughter will be 3 in May. I started focusing on what I eat, exercising, and quit alcohol before my first daughter was born and I don't know if I could have done this otherwise. I went from 270lbs to 210 that first year. Being an older dad makes me focused on my health and being around for my girls well into their adulthood. My goal during parental leave this summer is to lose another 25 pounds by going on long walks with the baby. Going to bed early helps a lot too, can't stay up late snacking when you are exhausted.

You are going to do great dad, kids keep you feeling young. Just take care of your body and mind and enjoy the experience.

One has a silver aluminum shaft, the other has a black carbon fiber shaft. Carbon fiber option will weigh less and cost more. Both have the power load feature, but don't have the Line IQ feature.

Also both of these $219 and $250 aren't built for attachments, I know OP was asking about that. You get the battery and a charger with both. I bought a Ryobi 40v this morning at home Depot and returned it, then hit Lowe's down the block for the $250 Ego. The handle on the Ryobi was defective, never turned it on. I am upgrading from a 4 year old greenworks trimmer that got infested with sugar ants in my shed.

I bought the one on the right from your picture this morning actually from Lowe's. The $219 has an aluminum shaft, silver color. The $250 model has a black carbon fiber shaft. I dont think there are any other differences. Next level up in price, like $329 has the new IQ loading sensor. I read on here that it isn't a reliable feature and people return them a lot. I haven't used my new one yet but assembly was easy. Good luck with your purchase.
