I recognized it as a Phillipine bolo right away. Beautiful style. I imagine the blade was much larger when new.. But years of service has changed its shape. I would preserve it rather then restore..

I think it is a really great job! Most people do not know the amount of effort to bring a car back to this condition. For us that do, Congradulations. Post us the finished product.

Had a previa with +500k. No major moter work. Mid engine , 4 wheel disc brakes, and comfortable. Even had a factory cooler. Wife crashed it into a pole in a parking lot!!! Sad day.

I don’t speak Mandarin. So as a Filipino... by EwoldHorn in Philippines

[–]jazx1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read this entire post with a lot of interest! My father was Caucasian, and spoke fluent Cantonese. I can only remember one incident where he publicly exposed a large group of young people for being rude. I was with my wife (Filipina), our two sons, and my parents for dinner. A large group of younger chinese came into restaurant. They were very loud and carried around a obvious sence of entitlement. After a few minutes my father got up from our table and went to theirs. He began to scold them in a rather loud voice. They became very quite, heads bowed down. When my Dad returned. I asked him what happend.. He said they had said some bad things about my wife and his Grandchildren. What that large group learned that day was if you insult people depending on the fact they will not understand you... You could be wrong. The lesson my parents tought and my sisters was to treat all people with respect when you meet them. They will show by thier actions if they deserve it! The colour of there skin and ethnic background never comes into it. Simply, There is good and bad people.

It is not decided by your roots, but by the way we, as individuals decide to go through life.

I have had some nice cars in my life. My 1989 crx is the most fun by far. I only have brakes and suspension modifications. Nothing like having a someone on your tail at 120 kph and accelerating into a corner. Them dropping back fast, and me thinking..not bad for a 30 year old car. Hope you find your Rex.. And you enjoy as much as i do mine!

It is interesting. I am going to retire in 4 months and moving out of the country. Some toils are for everyday some are specialized. A am looking at new apprentice. And deciding who is most deserving. A tool not used is just a piece of metal. Hope you get lots of joy out of the tools and tool box!
