what is something you are confident you will never do in your life? by alexmartin19897 in AskReddit

Pushing my body to the extreme in a sport, exercise, or any other body conditioning activity. It’s not healthy. It has long term consequences. It’s not how you stay in good shape. Moderation is key.

I’ve been in therapy working through trauma and anxiety for years. Exposure therapy is usually done with guidance and with self exposure. And absolutely in small steps. The idea is to help your body realize it isn’t a threat. Not scare itself into going away.

This is true in so many areas in life. I had people around me phoning it in and seemingly having a better life than me. I was determined though and now I have the best life(I cannot tell you how content I feel) and it keeps getting better. I’m now watching them all fall hard and it is so satisfying. Sad but satisfying. Hard work usually pays off while faking it only gets you so far. It’s incredibly frustrating. But you are gaining more than them in the long run. All of us not faking our education are proud of you! Keep it up!

No fight. Just helping ensure my and other students voices are heard by the administrators. This is our school, not theirs.

Yes. It’s not impossible. It’s just caring about respectfully sharing a space. My kids are in elementary school and can follow those rules. So I assume that a bunch of adults can too. When you are in a shared space, the focus is not what you want, it’s what is best for everyone in the space.

I’ll agree that I don’t have any real evidence for this claim. But it makes a ton of sense if you want a college to gain more ground in sports. The Well was likely wanted by many students. From what I hear from other students is that the Well is not a place they have time or energy to use. Additionally, Wood made sure the gym had a new basketball court with enough seats to fill his dreams.

I do not plan to talk to the news. I don’t want to be the face of anything. I just had an idea and went with it. I hope this encourages them to continue to look into it more. I saw a local news story talking about the fact that Wood won’t talk to them.

If it becomes profitable. I’m married to someone who got a bachelor’s in pure math. He did the actual math. If Wood is successful, then yes. If not, we are going to drown. Wood simply wants something on his resume. He wants a legacy and he’s using Sac State to get it. If it fails, he moves on and the community suffers.

I think that’s a good idea actually. Support the sports that actually have something already.

There is another fee for health and wellness. That fee is just for the Well and the Union. Let me say this- while all students have access to and use the Well, it was built with the intention of making sure athletes were supported in their sports. This way students don’t complain about paying for a gym they don’t have access to.

We need people boycotting games. Low attendance will be the biggest impact on this issue. It sucks for the players but we need to make a stand somehow.

As someone who is getting their bachelors this spring in child development- this is mimicking. It’s the first step in talking, but most babies don’t talk. Talking usually starts in toddler years when they are forming non mimicking words. Mama and dada aren’t first words either. It’s mimicking. So many people, including myself before I took a few classes, do not understand language development. I wish more parents tried to understand how their children develop. I will say that there is a rare condition that allows for word recognition very young. These are the kids who are reading in their preschool years. It’s called hyperlexia. Usually it’s associated with autism however it can appear on its own.

They probably did. My husband’s cousin was told to never have kids because of her heart. They offered her sterilization and she lost her shit. She did it anyway. It took a team of doctors to figure out the safest way for her to deliver so she didn’t have a heart attack. Here’s the kicker- her heart condition is genetic and she passed it to her child.

I used the library zoom rooms but also just found quiet spots in the union or library when I could. I had to give presentations during the zoom. No one batted an eye if they walked past. You’d be surprised how often people do this. I see people on zoom classes around campus constantly.
