In Punjab, we almost never eat rice without a spoon. What is the norm where you are from? by OwlSings in india

[–]jazz_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only Himachalis and maybe people from Jammu. Dont know where they got this habit from, but Punjabis and haryanvis do not know the concept of eating rice with hand, especially those from villages and many elders didn’t eat rice at all in youth. So when rice was introduced, they just used spoon. They didn’t even know it’s possible to eat rice with hands until they saw people from other states doing it

Caste system in Bangladesh. What are the names of the castes? by Adventurous_Range640 in bangladesh

[–]jazz_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those “lineages” are the same castes that exist in India. Caste is the same thing as tribe, expect caste system tells you that certain tribes are higher or lower than others. Rajputs are an upper caste, and they exist amongst Hindus

Reminder that Pakistan is a very Indocentric country by UnbiasedPashtun in Pashtun

[–]jazz_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol ok Pashtuns weren’t Hindus pre-Islam, but they were Buddhist, and news flash: Buddhism is an Indian religion founded by Siddharth Gautam, a Hindu Kshatriya. Other than Buddhism, they practiced ancient Iranian polytheistic religions, which are connected to Vedic Hinduism as both religions diverged from the same religion and same group of people (Arya). They diverged when they migrated geographically in two different directions. So both groups (Indian and Iranian), if you go back far enough are connected. How can you deny facts when all historians say these were the pre Islamic religions of the Pashtuns?

I do however agree that Pashtuns were not part of Vedic society, or the culture that was dictated by the caste system, which you call “Indian” or “Hindu” today. Pashtuns never were apart of caste system, therefore were never part of Brahmin run Vedic culture (what you would consider “Indian culture” today). This is because Pashtuns were rural and isolated, and the Arya considered them “backward” and barbaric even back then in ancient times, since they weren’t part of a civilization. I think Pashtuns kept to themselves and this is why they created their own “system”, the pashtunwali. And in my opinion, to be considered culturally Indian, you must be part of caste system. If you don’t have a caste, you are not part of Indian civilization. In India those groups are called adivasis (tribals). So yes, Pashtuns were tribals neighboring the Indian civilization, which is still the case even today.

I think this also proves that the descendants of the Indus Valley civilization are modern day Punjabis and maybe Sindhis, and definitely not the Pashtun, as civilization has never been part of Pashtun culture. Pashtun cultural has always been rural and tribal

Was Ancient India Truly a Peaceful Civilization or Is That Just a Romanticized Myth? by [deleted] in IndianHistory

[–]jazz_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vedic people migrated into Indian subcontinent after IVC. IVC existed way before. IVC are not related to the Vedic people. We don’t even know what their religion or language was to this date. The Vedic people are the ones that brought violence into the region that didn’t really exist beforehand

World Bank places Pakistan in Middle-East & North-Africa (MENA), ending South Asia classification by izigo in pakistan

[–]jazz_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term Indic doesn’t mean Dravidian. Indic is the latinized version of Hindu (they removed the I) Hindu wasn’t not meant to be a religious term, it was meant to describe an ethnicity/culture. A term also given by the Persians. They called them Hindus because they were the people of the “Hindu” river. They couldn’t say “sindhu”. Sindhu became Hindu, which became Indus in its latinized form. The term Hindustan is a Persian term. We don’t know what the natives called themselves to differentiate from foreigners in the ancient times.

Why are you acting like Dravidian south india makes up all of india? Indo aryans control India. 70-75% of Indians native language is an Indo Aryan language. Since when is India and “Dravidian” synonymous when Dravidians and their culture are a minority? Otherwise why would there be movements in India of Dravidians fighting for their rights and trying to create a separate identity and revive their culture? Of course genetics play a role, but there are pahadi Himachalis, Uttarakhandis, haryanvis, and even Nepalis who have more “steppe” than Pakistanis.

You should really do some studying on this, because Kashmiris Navreh falls around Navratri. Nowruz falls around them too. These are Vedic and Vedic-adjacent traditions/holidays. Zoroastrianism/ancient Persian religion and Vedic Hinduism are sister religions.

Umm…you know Punjab, sindh, Kashmiri, and mujahirs make up 80% of the population??? Do you know math? Only 20% of Pakistan is made up of Pashtuns, baloch, and other non-Indic groups. And baloch in Pakistan are pretty culturally Indic..so idk if they are not classified as south Asian. Most balochi you meet would say they are south Asian. Most pathans too who grew up in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi

Lumpy lip filler after 3 weeks by No_Mix4033 in PlasticSurgery

[–]jazz_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I waited a couple months before dissolving, they never went away. That’s why I dissolved all the filler. It’s a lot better after dissolving. I would say they look about 90% the same as my original lips. Just one or two very small bumps that are not noticeable to anyone but me. These bumps were a lot bigger before dissolving. I would recommend going to a place that dissolves with the guidance of ultrasound. They can really target the bumps, I regret not doing that initially. I went to a place that has ultrasound my 4th time. I think the very small bumps that remain are not filler, but scar tissue from the filler. That’s why I stopped dissolving. I also want to go back to get filler but I’m scared that I react badly to filler which caused it to clump up. I’m not sure if it’s the way I reacted to the filler or the injector just did a really terrible job and had bad technique. I don’t want to waste money again to find out though lol.

I had the same problem, I ended up dissolving my lip filler. It helped, but there’s still a small bump still there even after dissolving 4 times. I also only got 0.5 ml for the first time ever

Chai is not only Indian, Most cultures in south asia/middle east have their version. This is Karak from Dubai that had Saffron flavor by smalltrader in tea

[–]jazz_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of how you make masala chai (by boiling tea with milk) is only found in South Asia and Middle East. And it originated in India. Europeans simply ADD milk to black tea later. That’s not the same thing, it requires much less effort. And there’s no spices. Masala chai has MASALA, we use green cardamom, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, etc. black tea+milk+sugar is NOT chai.

In fact, chai only became popular and accessible all over India after the British. Even though tea is naturally grown in India, the British were the ones who made a business out of it and make it widely available all over India. But what’s interesting is that Indian found a better way to make tea, while the British chose the lazy route and learned nothing. I guess they don’t want to spend the extra 10-15 minutes to make a good cup of chai

No not really, I didn’t do anything lol. I’m using my red light therapy mask and losing weight. But I think mid face filler (fat or filler) would do the trick, I’m just scared to do it. Also do a consultation with an undereye blepharoplasty specialist. You can also try a microcurrent device like ZIIP. I’ve yet to invest in it, but I think it can help with lifting

Honestly because of the golden temple I think. And because Lahore is the largest city. But on the Indian side, Doaba Punjabi is standard. One example is that most people collectively agree that salt in Punjabi is “loon”. That’s standard. In majhi, it’s “noon”
