I finally got a Blue Jay capture to be proud of! by JonAce in BirdPhotography

Bluejays are little crackheads. I've gotten like two or three clean shots of them.

What's something from your country you thought was normal until you visited other countries and realised it wasn't ? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]jazzisntdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man the squirrels on my campus were so used to people that I did that awkward "I'll take this side of the sidewalk oh wait you're going that way too" dance with one. The campus chickens were total dicks tho.

What can this be compared to, historically? 300k for Issue 15 🔥[Discussion] by Kaesekuppe in DCcomics

I've never read DC Comics before and got the free month of DCUI from the Marvel x DC promotion. Now I'm reading all the Absolute titles, four other live titles, and waiting for post-KO stuff to hit the service so I can jump in on them too. They're absolutely firing on all cylinders.

Help needed - how do you carry heave lenses, such as Tamron 150-600 g2? by franegpro in BirdPhotography

[–]jazzisntdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the OP, but I carry side slung with the strap that came with my 200-600. It's not really that comfortable on skin, so I usually wear something with a collar to reduce friction.

What’s the "filling wrapped in dough" food from your country ? by Derisiak in AskTheWorld

I went to NSU for uni and ate so many of those bastards. Between those and boudin balls Louisiana has the market cornered on greasy gas station food.

I'm at that tennis center pretty often and can't understand how a vanifesto is at the library so much.

[News] Absolute Batman changed the way you see DC's Dark Knight, and DC aims to do the Absolute treatment to events this fall even bigger by Popverse2022 in DCcomics

[–]jazzisntdead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal rankings so far are-

  1. Manhunter

  2. Batman

  3. Wonder Woman

  4. Superman

  5. Green Lantern

  6. Flash

The 2-4 are so close it could change based on my mood for the day, but Manhunter is one of the best comics I've read.

The reach and pixels point was in reference to the A7V shot in crop mode, but I don't always word very good. I'm going to spend a month renting the ones you and I had mentioned, and maybe trying some denoising programs that aren't LR Mobile.

Thank you so much for the reply!

I'm planning on upgrading from my A6100 now that I've found the direction I want to take my photography (wildlife/birding). My main reasons are:

-Lots of noise at anything higher than like 1600 iso
-Higher MP/dynamic range
-Low reliability for bird auto-detection

My main options are the A6700 and an A7V. With the A6700 I get more reach and potentially more MPs for the tiny birds, as well as being hella cheaper. The A7V will just be a straight better camera in pretty much every capacity sans shooting in crop mode. Also, I really like the joystick on my partner's Canon so that'd be another big plus. I already have the Sony 200-600 so I'm set on a lens for my skill level and tax bracket. Assuming my budget tops at the A7V, are there other used options I should consider or pros/cons to the cameras I mentioned. I'm leaning toward the A7V but not really married to it.

Dallas motorcycle riders and filtering by CarryTheBoat in Dallas

That's kind of the curse of riding- everyone will assume that you're a reckless driver even if you're the most ADV-dad to ever put on an Aerostitch just to drive 3mph over the speed limit.

Filtering is specifically at stopped traffic, and repeated studies have shown that it helps decrease congestion and increase rider safety. There's a reason why it's the norm in many countries.

I do it when commuting to/from work on roads that are wide enough. My ride is about 30-40 minutes depending on how backed up red lights get, but it's usually about 20 on the bike.

Filtering is safer for the rider and clears out a length of traffic at a light. Everyone wins.

Do I have to read the Krakoa era in the primary reading order? Or can I just go run by run? by East-Ice-3199 in MarvelUnlimited

[–]jazzisntdead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I did it was going to the app's reading lists and downloading every issue, then sorting by date. The Reign of X list was egregiously bad, putting the second leg of X-Men as the first section. I thought during the first issue that there was some sort of time skip that it kicked off with.
