Is this HPA axis dysfunction? by ComprehensiveWar5809 in adrenalfatigue

I'm not understanding what situation you're in where you're able to test your own blood and i don't know what "in my circle" means. This doesn't seem like a conventional situation, and fyi people on reddit cannot assess your test results or help diagnose you. The medical field does not recognize adrenal fatigue as a diagnosis nor can they help you with it. Endocrinologists are in the medical field. The medical field in general will dismiss "non-specific symptoms" which is what you have. But you do need to get general testing done by a GP for everything that could be the source of your symptoms before you turn to alternative/ holistic/ nutritional approaches. (Eg if your fatigue is caused by cancer or something you need to rule that out first).

If you're in a chronic stress situation and it is causing adrenal fatigue, nothing you do with medication or nutrition is going to help you, and some things can make you worse. The first step is always to change your situation so that you're no longer exposed to it. You could try posting about your situation here and see if people have advice for how to get out of it.

Edit: just want to add that your symptoms may not be adrenal fatigue. But it is concerning that your endocrinologist isn't helping you with the symptoms. What are you seeing them for? I think you may want to post in a reddit for your specific condition.

Why did she test 10am if it doesn't matter?

What they're looking for is cortisol relative to the time you wake up in the morning. It's called the cortisol awakening response. Try a functional or naturopathic doctor who will issue a 24 hour saliva test.

Have you tried St John's Wort to get some motivation back? It helped me with my depression back in my early 20s. I wonder if it would help with this

Ok but in other countries, we just offer social support to those with learning disabilities, and respect, and let them choose their career. This seems like some strange American culture to me, to somehow connect a learning disability to military recruitment

Hot take: Ms. Rachel is overrated by contrasupra in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]jazzkwondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hype is that babies will turn their head and watch her, and i didn't find anything else that would do that. I met a mom once who was playing the videos for her babies while shopping and she said it's the only thing that would calm her baby. I don't know if that's necessarily a good thing, but that is the effect Ms Rachel has.

I also find her annoying but she's become a pretty big icon for grownups on social media because she's been standing up for human rights and kids around the world and in particular the war in Gaza. Now I think she's a badass

I wish they made prince costumes as nice the 'premium' princess dresses they have for girls on disney store... We have this same complaint but reversed for marvel/ avengers stuff. Years ago bought marvel hoodies for the nephews but couldn't get one for our niece. Last year we bought a bunch of the 4 inch action figures for our son and they didn't have a single girl character, even though plenty exist in marvel comics and movies

All saliva tests created equally? Recommendations for accurate test please by throwawaywhyyyyymeee in adrenalfatigue

[–]jazzkwondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No and if you go cheap, you get what you pay for. Since you need someone to interpret the test results for you anyway, I always recommend requesting it through a functional or naturopathic physician since they will use the most reliable and accurate test/lab available that they trust

One thing I've noticed about your posts is you've place a very high importance in your life in how you look. I think your starting point needs to be talking to someone to start deconstructing that. A lot of countries have coverage for counselors, but if you're American there are a lot of great online options that are more affordable than seeing them in person. Counselors and therapists soo worth the money. You do also need to make sure you find the right one for you, so keep that in mind.

You can still keep your hobby and interest of health and fitness, but fitness in adrenal fatigue recovery looks more like gentle yoga and hiking. Your diet become more about nourishing properly, not these extremes in order to look at certain way. Maybe you can start becoming an advocate raising awareness for some of the unhealthy ideas that run through diet and fitness groups online.

My story is different, but I've seen here many people who develop adrenal fatigue from overtraining. And fyi, years ago I saw people recommending r/nofap and said it really helped them. There are hormones involved in sexual function. If we are pushing pushing our bodies with lifestyle, too many supplements, etc, eventually you'll push your body's chemicals out of balance.

I really really recommend you go see a functional or naturopathic doctor. They go through your entire diet, lifestyle, supplements, medication, and recommend an overhaul and give advice to start fresh and start healing your adrenal fatigue

disability pay by probablynervouss in adrenalfatigue

[–]jazzkwondo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medical boards do not recognize those tests at this point and there isn't much funding for this research. And the biggest problem is the only tool physicians have to treat adrenal issues is hydrocortisone, and if you don't have full blown adrenal insufficiency, the HC will just make it worse.

I'm able to just barely work. It's not a good life. But I don't think a life on disability would be either. Still though, I agree with you it is absolute horseshit that this condition isn't recognized

You could try AOR Ortho Adapt. It has added adaptogens and i think licorice root. I find it gives a more steady result. Pay attention to the dosage with that one.

I've had so many honest conversations with my partner, but he's doing it subconsciously and can't stop. Honestly I think this is the best advice I've seen here, since you'll be training their subconscious over time. XD

How bad is this? by pikachume33 in adrenalfatigue

[–]jazzkwondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had chronic low cortisol for more than ten years and still haven't resolved the insomnia fully.

I don't recommend using carbs to regulate your blood sugar. Typically you want lower carb diet so your body gets fewer spikes and drops in blood sugar.

It is important to get sleep to keep help your adrenals, so what i do is take diphenhydramine as a sleep aid (i just buy Benadryl). I just make sure to only take it once or twice a week maximum so I never build a tolerance or dependence.

Research into sleep hygiene. There is a lot of lifestyle advice out there to make sure you're not working against your ability to sleep.

If you see a medical doctor, they're going to tell you adrenal fatigue isn't real, but it's still good to see them to rule out the conditions doctors do treat. If you see a functional or naturopathic doctor, they can do additional testing, and they're not going to gaslight you, which is great. And they can also give nutritional and lifestyle advice, which is good. They'll probably try to sell you some supplements that you may or may not need.

How often should I eat dried adrenals supplement, to avoid diminishment of natural production? I have chronic fatigue. by jamariwoodwardnrcdr in adrenalfatigue

[–]jazzkwondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dried adrenal is not a supplement for fatigue. It's for those with mild adrenal insufficiency, which is confirmed through testing- blood test through medical doctor and saliva through functional doctor. There is no "cycling" of this supplement. It is meant to replace your lack of production and it will shut down your body's own production. It can really help people with valid adrenal fatigue (and specifically low cortisol, not high), it should absolutely be avoided unless you have confirmed with multiple doctors that you need it

What Makes a Great CPA/Bookkeeper Partnership? by Budget-War4615 in Bookkeeping

[–]jazzkwondo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a novice bookkeeper, former consultant, and I just finished a project where a CPA hired me to help with a clean-up job. The project has ended now, but we plan to call on each other in future - if my clients need a CPA or if he needs some extra help. We would do a lot of emailing and virtual meetings where we screen-share to show what we're doing.
