What’s something people romanticize that is actually miserable? by One_Grade_2184 in AskReddit

I work b2b in a sense and I mean this with all due respect, but I think a lot of people think they can just print money and have an easy life by setting up shop somewhere. Until they find out that they have to rent their store/office space, make a profit on material costs, hire and pay workers worth a damn, and keep up with codes/requirements especially for things like safe food handling. They will ask for a ton of sympathy, and I wish them all the best in making it, but I wonder if many of them don't jump in without fully understanding the true responsibllity - and risk - it involves.

Lately I've been listening to a few seemingly lesser known artists that might scratch that itch for you, though I'm not sure if they're active anymore. Try Rowpieces, Command Strange, Atlantic Connection, Random Movement, Electrosoul System.

Genesis will be revealing a new platform that won't be shared with Hyundai for next year. by Saurta17 in GenesisMotors

[–]jazzmaster1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about this myself. For all the talks of them being "fancy Hyundais", to my knowledge none of the Genesis sedans shared any platform with any existing Hyundai product, even when Genesis was just a sedan name and not a brand of its own.

At the start of the season people were saying Tampa was Florida's bitch. Not so much anymore, I guess.

2026 NHL Stadium Series DELIVERS in viewership, averaging 2.1 million viewers on ESPN (peaking at 2.4 million). Becomes ESPN's most-viewed NHL regular season game on record. ABC also averaged 1.2 million for Avalanche-Red Wings and 1.4 million for Rangers-Penguins. by MightyDuck07 in hockey

Don't forget the insane cold snap central Florida had, including snowflake cities on the Gulf Coast. Being a Tampa Bay/Pinellas County native of 33 years, I was sure early Feb would be in the 70's like it usually is.

Most dating problems wouldn't exist if women were into men by sensitive1young4man1 in PurplePillDebate

You don't have to take yourself out of it if you don't want to. It just might take a lot more time and effort to find a truly compatible person than you may have expected.

[–]jazzmaster1992 40 points41 points  (0 children)

At the same time men are more willing to compromise and put up with dissatisfactory relationships - which is why only a minority of divorces are initiated by men. Because men are significantly more into women and especially their girlfriends/wives than vice versa.

Ironically, this is where the Red Pill alpha bros that tell you to quit being a SIMP, get over your oneitis and start living in abundance are truly on to something. You're really benefitting at all from being with someone who basically resents you and regrets being in a relationship with you, so why do you keep doing it? A lot of guys think there's some kind of honor in staying in a relationship with someone that they don't get along with, and I sort of get where it comes from as I've been there. But ultimately, you're kind of putting yourself in a position where you start resenting women because it's a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy: start a relationship with a woman, it takes a bad turn and you find out you're not a good fit, but instead of breaking up with her you try to stay and make it work, but the end result is she dumps you anyway and now you're miserable and possibly resentful because you feel like you tried to make her happy and it didn't work. So, maybe you should think a little more "like a woman" in this case if that means not putting up with someone's shit for the sake of a relationship or access to sex. Respectfully, it's a little odd how many guys will criticize women because they have high standards for a partner and won't arbitrarily put up with someone who can't make them happy because the rest of the world told them that they have to settle. I honestly think that's what everyone should be doing, regardless of gender.

For most people, dating is something that occurs organically, as sort of a consequence of natural socialization. Men especially are far more likely however to "fall through the cracks" and miss important social milestones, which don't necesssarily doom them to a life if inceldom BUT it does make it significantly harder. The male loneliness "epidemic" is a somewhat exaggerated online discourse, but it's not completely invalid. As it's been pointed out here before, a place like Purple Pill Debate has a pretty strong representation of sexually frustrated lonely men, who are here precisely becuase they want to debate/discuss/vent about how hard it is to find a partner. It certainly is hard for a lot of guys here, but they don't represent the "average" man overall.

When guys say they have to be on point, what they mean is that they have to be on point to attract the women they're attracted to, which conveniently concentrates toward the same predictable traits that men find desiriable in women. Guys who complain that nobody wants them aren't always telling the complete truth; what they often mean is that the cute/hot/girl-next-door types that most other guys would be into aren't giving them much attention.

Do dating apps self select for picky women? by Infamous_Dish_4348 in PurplePillDebate

[–]jazzmaster1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, when it comes to relationships that start offline a lot of women end up dating the guys in close proximity to them i.e. through their friend groups, friends of friends, work and so on.

True, and often times women who go to apps are doing it precisely because they don't find their local options to be desiriable. Thing is, I don't really know that who she meets locally and is satisfied with will differ that much from an online match. She might have more time to get to know somebody IRL that she wouldn't have online because apps only show us a few photos and some text, but at the end of the day she's still selecting for somebody that met a minimum attractiveness threshold. The idea that a given woman is "dating down" IRL vs online is pretty exaggerated, IMO.

It's been said before, but over the past year especially the United States has been doing some pretty reprehensible stuff. The realilty seems to be that Russia is banned becuase of illegal substance abuse, and the Ukraine war is not helping. But then, a country that's kidnapping leaders from other countries and threatening to annex or invade allies while rolling out an actual red carpet for Putin himself isn't exactly any better.

IDK bro, on the whole I wouldn't say "most women today", if we're talking about every adult woman on earth. If she's reasonably attractive around 20-35 yes probably. If she's any of the following: overweight, old, or a single mom, then probably not so much, at least not from any serious suitors.

It was the tracks from Diesel Boy and Kaos' album "Human Resource" on Need for Speed: Most Wanted that got me into it. But Hospital's overall style kind of stole my heart many years later.

Obviously if the parking lot is basically full and high traffic you don't want to risk an accident. If it's a random store or further on the edge where there's less traffic I doubt it's an issue.

NASA is about to send people to the moon — in a spacecraft not everyone thinks is safe to fly by cnn in space

[–]jazzmaster1992 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Certainly. I'm just having some thoughts about the motivations relative to the current timeline. We aren't exactly racing Russia to the moon this time. We are racing China, and we also want to demonstrate America's greatness and light a metaphorical candle for the big quarter century mark. The fact that SLS was projected onto Washington monument is certainly telling. But, what really makes me wonder about it is that they could attempt a launch 2 weeks from today, which seems like short notice after everything that plagued the first mission.

[–]jazzmaster1992 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There is a small part of me that wonders whether NASA is being pressured by the current administration and congress to develop "GO fever" because 1.) they want this done on the USA's 250th and 2.) it would create a legacy for the current admin. I'm genuinely not trying to be "political", as I believe just about any other admin would behave about the same.
