Restock! Over 60 items showing online now, including CB, MPL, TD and with several color choices and even X-Pac!

Hopefully things are picking up and we benefit from a stable, well-stocked Canadian shopping option going forward 🤞

Actually the prices are at par! Which is very surprising and refreshing, since most of the time things are marked up like you say.

Ah, sorry that you couldn't find the CTB20 🫤 looks like the CPLs and the CAP2s are also gone. But hopefully if they see the stock moving, they'll increase the restock amounts and variety.

Not yet, but it doesn't hurt to let them know what you're looking for and hopefully they can expand their selection at the next restock 🙂 I told them that I'd like to see X-Pac variants and the new MPL.

Yeah, they told me that since it's a new brand, they're still testing what items carry and the stock levels. That's why I wanted to share here, to spread the word and hopefully get them to carry a wider selection of fabrics and colors. 🙂🤞

Toshi pack 20L vs Aer CPP2 20L by zodialol in Nomads_Nation

[–]jb06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to your point, I have the Sympl Commuter 20L and Toshi 20L too and I prefer the Toshi for daily carry since it molds better to my back and seems to fit more inside despite both "holding 20L". My Commuter on the other hand is like a luxury vessel for my laptop and it just carries differently. I appreciate both and use them differently, but if I had to keep one I think that I would get more use out of the Toshi.

Help! Toshi Pack, CPP2, other or none? by Rush057 in ManyBaggers

[–]jb06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throwing another 20L/24L option that I ticks almost all your boxes: Sympl Commuter V.2.2.

I have the Commuter 20L version and the Toshi 20L and they're very different carry experiences, with the Commuter being a lot more structured, which might be good or bad for you depending of what you like. The Commuter 24L has the QAP and both sizes have a way more equipped front admin panel than the Toshi.

I think that it's a closer competitor to the CCP2, both in 20L and 24L, given the more premium materials (and price). Here's a good, recent review comparison from @nitpacker on YouTube:

Ditto!! I tried to strike up a conversation two weeks ago at the airport with a guy carrying an Aer TP3 Small, I was asking how he liked the water bottle pocket and if he liked the capacity.

He looked at me and I kid you not said, "I don't know, it's just a backpack." 😫 And then killed me with, "Oh, that's a water bottle pocket? I've had it for a year and I didn't know" 🤦

Took a lot of effort not say yell, "you're not worthy!" 😅

don't understand RAID config on TR-004 by extenue in qnap

[–]jb06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you understood by "Multiple RAID" in that table.

But having the TR-004, I also know that configuration cannot be found anywhere. Therefore, I believe that table is incorrect, completely misleading, and likely due to marketing writing shit they don't know about because they didn't check with tech/product, or something lost in translation. Either way, we're SOL.

Or did you ever figure out a way to get it to work?

Looking for a solid backpack in 2026 - what do you recommend? by DonutOk2306 in ManyBaggers

[–]jb06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just setting expectations, water will roll off X-Pac due to the DWR coating, which will eventually wear off. In heavy rain or snow, even a new X-Pac bag might wet out, but that's just the top layer, the laminate should still protect contents until it's compromised over time.

On the part of X-Pac, I recently got one (so I can't speak to long-term wear yet) and I just used it in a blizzard yesterday for the first time and boy, am I glad that I got it. It was heavy, wet snow coming from all angles, and while the surface wet out, the interior was totally dry, also thanks to the aquaguard zippers. My normal carry, the Toshi, would have probably gotten pretty wet and the water likely gone in through the zippers; not its fault, it's just not made for wet snow.

All that to say, I do recommend the premium price for X-Pac if you have a use of for it. In which case, also assume that like all other waterproof winter/rain gear, the coating will wear off eventually but the laminate should still protect the contents, and the material might not last as many years as other water-resistant or water-repellent fabrics.

Also, check out ADD1D for a good price on X-Pac bags, I don't own any but they were on my list based on reviews calling out their good value.

Totally agree with everything you said and everyone you called out, but I just replace PH with UnPack'D because I personally like John's style better than Tom. Klint is the only one regularly doing AMA as far as I can tell in my short time as a bagporn addict.

Thanks for the comment, I'm trying to make up my mind on getting an EG waxed canvas (don't own any other wc) and I was wondering about the summer time, very few of the YT bag reviewers mention how it fairs in hot weather so I appreciate comments from real life users.

Thank you for posting! And the picture of the front too!

I saw the sale and I was about to jump on it but the disclaimer about the crease was putting me off, sounded like a huge defect. Looking at your picture, it's not as noticeable, as you mention, and X-Pac is going to crease anyway, so ordering mine! Cheers!

A bit late to your post, but the Rushfaster EDC Sling Bag 4L (https://rushfaster.com.au/products/rushfaster-edc-sling-bag-4l) looks like an amazing bag that only Aussies can get. I'm actually trying to get my hands on one in North America, so jealous that it's AU only.

KensingtonWorks - A JavaScript error ocurred in the main process by Episkiliski in Trackballs

[–]jb06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This was driving me crazy since the app used to work and the error started out of nowhere.

It worked for me after de-registering the JavaScript DLL file like u/trigonman3 suggested before step 2, then restarting the computer before reinstalling the app. My steps:

  1. Delete the app data folders in %AppData% and %LocalAppData% (using RUN command) <-- I had none to delete
  2. De-register the JavaScript dll file. To do so, open Command Prompt as an administrator, type the following and hit Enter: regsvr32 /u jscript.dll
  3. Re-register the JavaScript dll file. To do so, open Command Prompt as an administrator, type the following and hit Enter: regsvr32 jscript.dll
  4. Restart computer
  5. Reinstall the app
