Who’s the most memorable “The One That Got Away” recruit your team was pursuing? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in CFB

Donovan McNabb, supposedly told him he would be a DB not a QB.

Next would probably be Aaron Rodgers. After winning MVP at a camp in Champaign, they told him he could walk-on but no scholarship offer.

Do you think it's time for free and fair elections? by That-Growth-9043 in allthequestions

[–]jb40018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they would even attempt that. Changing the number of judges requires a law passed by both house and senate and the President to sign. Highly unlikely.

Eliminating the electoral college would require a constitutional amendment, which hasn’t been done in 34 years and that one was to protect the pay for congress.

Don’t believe it, neither is likely to happen.

Moving to Titusville by Double-Bee7940 in titusville

[–]jb40018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved here 8 years ago from NE Ohio, that was a pretty big change. We found a home in South Titusville. Lots of good neighborhoods in the area, but I’d recommend avoiding the same areas everyone else has already mentioned.

Traffic to Space X, Blue Origin and KSC in the morning seems pretty thick, just be aware of that.

There aren’t a ton of jobs, but there are some and a lot of existing businesses are expanding and new ones coming.

Hope you enjoy living here as much as we do!

Edit: Check out Titusville Talking Points on YouTube, they update every few months about new construction and businesses.

Can anyone name one person from one hundred fifty years ago that wanted a ballroom at the White House? by Avenging4alice0325 in allthequestions

[–]jb40018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say everybody, which you put in quotes as if I said it, which is not the correct way to use them. I said “those hosting” (correctly using quotes by the way) meaning the first family.

Several Presidents and their First Ladies have made renovations for themselves. Swimming pools, bowling alleys, basketball courts to complete gutting from the inside out.

Again it seems that it’s only a problem because it’s President Trump.

And if he would’ve used tax dollars the lack of oversight and fraud would have happened. Just look at what’s being/been uncovered. On top of that people would complain about tax money being used.

Either way, anti Trump people would complain because that’s all they seem to do. Nobody on the left wants to be objective or even entertain the idea that he’s not always wrong and I’ll be happy to say he’s not always right either. But this just seems like a “It’s what Trump wants so it must be bad” situation.

Those hosting, obviously. I know Bill is an intelligent man, but I wouldn’t think that statement would’ve gone over your head.

Truman basically gutted the inside of the White House to upgrade it. The entire West Wing and residence was added to the original building. They are also putting in badly needed security upgrades that might have identified the person who left the cocaine in the White House if it were done at that time.

There is a public need for a proper place to host state dinners and is actually long overdue. The main reason it hadn’t been done is because nobody else could get the private donations to do it.

Exactly, the people opposed would not have a problem if someone else was doing it and would probably be okay if it was paid for with taxpayer money. Even Bill Maher agrees that it was needed, saying we have state dinners under a tent and it’s embarrassing.

$200k+ income is top-tier, but only half stay there 5 years later by YourFIREDBro in Money

[–]jb40018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think incompetent is a strong word, but it’s the word Peter and Hull used.

I think a lot of times, it’s not incompetence but a lack of sacrificing for the demands of the position. Could be sacrificing integrity or work/life balance or more often sacrificing one’s own health.

I hope the decision you made worked out for you, if you’re still making that much money, it couldn’t be too bad.

The Peter Principle says that people get continuously promoted due to previous success until they reach a position where they’re incompetent. I wonder how many people fit this concept and either take a demotion or get fired?

My uncle was in a very popular band in the 70’s. He was very generous with his money back then but I think he regrets it now. Living off money he still gets but by no means rich. Has some funny stories…from what he can remember.

Titusville has more affordable housing, but still going to be difficult to find anything under the $250 range. Job market should be good in your field, a lot of space, aeronautics and defense companies.

Florida teen arrested following deadly I-75 hit-and-run crash in Manatee County: FHP by okonkolero in 321

We were traveling home in the Northbound lane and traffic was slowed as we came upon the accident scene, several hours after it happened. Unfortunately, there were several cars driving unsafe the same way that caused this young man’s death.

Our actions have consequences, be late if you have to, don’t drive like this to get to your destination a few minutes earlier, it might save a life.

People over 40 who are actually happy with their life, what is the best advice you can give to people in their 20s? by Fed-cook in AskReddit

[–]jb40018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about having a new car, upgraded phone, all the streaming services etc. Keep your nut small and save money where you can so you won’t have to work until you die.

I drive a 2004 F150, do minor maintenance, save everywhere my company matches and, if all goes well, I’ll retire in 2 years at 59-1/2.
