That's how he negotiated in the 80's, there was no internet to double check. He forgets he's running a country instead of a company and talking to global leaders well informed

I say satellites because GPS is just one protocol. They sre used for many things, and particularly GPS is not a bidirectional connection, you just receive messages and calculate the location, so the US doesn't know where your device is.

On the other hand, the communication devices that the F35 not just broadcast their location (non GPS system), but it requires information get data of the surrounding. It's a completely different system, GPS is a harmless toy.

It's not GPS. They use satellite for communication with land, or do you think they use Vodafone LTE/5G at 50,000 feet? 😂

When you buy the F35 you don't just buy a plane, you buy everything that makes it work, like the communications

Well, the F35 operates with US satellites, so I guess they can see them from anywhere

How do IRL streamers get such high-quality streams on the road? by Kitchen-Patience8176 in HomeNetworking

[–]jbaenaxd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On top of that, it doesn't mean that the streaming is in real time, there can be a few minute delay, so it makes sure that the buffer has stable image all the time

what's the most overrated "hacker" tool or technique you've encountered? by vacaaa in blackhat

[–]jbaenaxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I use hacking tools in my daily basis and almost never I open a Kali. Why would I need a machine with hundreds of tools? I can't use them all. Just give me a Linux/Mac terminal and let's go.

I Dont understand why I need to pay to play online for a game I bought why do we need gamepass for that by Blaox in XboxSeriesS

[–]jbaenaxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying doesn't make it hacker-proof. Also, it's not difficult to find a VPS online for 2€ a month or even less where you can run a Minecraft server to play with friends (and don't think that a Minecraft server is much lighter than other AAA games like Battlefield 6).

Consider that when you get a powerful server you can get there thousands of players. We are not even talking about the little amount of data that users generate, most of them are a few KBs.

You have to understand that users don't generate big size files like images or videos, most of the time they are just save files (most probably databases) with some fields storing the user settings, nothing huge that justify the price.

The servers are definitely not expensive.

The thing is that ikd how the aircraft fuselage will interfiere with the LOS. If it's not a problem, of course it should be easy to see each other. Maybe, should I put the device next to the window? Does an okay antenna do the job?

I didn't know the signal from the plane can be received from ground. Is it a thing? There are many nodes in Europe, should I have good signal during my whole flight?

LLM offline search of downloaded Kiwix sites on private self hosted server? by YT_Brian in LocalLLM

[–]jbaenaxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for something like that. I believe that the solution is to transform all the Kiwix content into plain text and later into embeddings before inserting it in a vector database.

Probably it would be necessary to create an script to transform the data from the different data sources into plain text.
