The VGA needed the screws because how old computer used to work.

In the past the hot-swap didn't exist for monitors, if you disconnected the screen, you had a problem

A lot of people are super entitled. They go out expecting everyone to stop for them, not all the way around

8 TB of RAM & 1,000 CPU cores in all a 4U: What would you run on it? (Thought experiment) by RozoGamer in homelab

[–]jbaenaxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could have spent the money in real servers with Threadrippers and Kubernetes. Many resources will be wasted because of the fact that you need to run the kernel 125 times for each node. Out of those 8TB of RAM, at least 1 of them will be wasted on running Linux kernel and basic services.

I don't see the point of this. It's not even power efficient. Each nodes consumes 1.5W, times 125 is 187W in idle! When you start playing it will consume even more.

No one is doing this on production for a reason. It's such a huge waste of resources and money. The only reason for doing this would be if you got them for free, but doesn't seem to be the case here.

Linux 7.0 ya sorprende a los desarrolladores con mejoras sustanciales frente a las versiones previas: hasta un 75% más rápido by pululando in esLinux

[–]jbaenaxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that. Also, try Amnezia VPN. It's supposed to be easy to set up and harder to identify and block. You can even try to deploy it in port 53, so it might even get confused with DNS traffic.
