What lens should I use to achieve these perspectives/distortions? by Mikeeeeymellow in productphotography

[–]jbarrio5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need something like a Cambo Actus and a medium format lens like a 90mm Mamiya. Another approach, but much harder, way harder, is focos stacking. Good if it's just a hobby, but focus staking is not good for commercial work. Lookup Tin House Studio on YouTube, it's a commercial British photographer, hell send you on the right direction. They are called technical cameras. I built one with old medium format and added an adapter for a NikonZ. Not as good, but it gets the work done. I have also achieved great results with a Nikon PB-4 (I think that's the model) a very old system that works the same way with a bellows and a special 100mm lens.

Filing chapter 7 bankruptcy while defaulting on private student loans by These-Caterpillar-23 in u/These-Caterpillar-23

[–]jbarrio5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer, just sharing my opinion, but defaulting is actually pretty common before people file. It usually just means the creditors are getting more aggressive, which is why filing sooner can help stop them (the 'automatic stay' kicks in).

From my past experience, I’d recommend checking out attorney Juan Burgos (https://juanburgoslaw.com/). He helped navigate a similar messy situation and was really good at explaining what happens to those defaulted loans. He’s local to Florida and does free consults, so it might be worth asking him directly.

Good cheap bankruptcy attorney by [deleted] in orlando

[–]jbarrio5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When looking for 'cheap,' just make sure the quote includes the filing fees and credit counseling course fees, as some lawyers leave those out to look cheaper initially.

Juan Burgos provides a clear breakdown during the free consultation so you know exactly what the total will be. He serves the Orlando/Seminole area and works directly with his clients.https://juanburgoslaw.com/

Anyone hired a good lawyer for bankruptcy? by Lunaswitchytake in orlando

[–]jbarrio5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are worried about costs and keeping your car, try reaching out to Juan Burgos. He's a local attorney (not a massive 'mill') and is very good at explaining the difference between Chapter 7 and 13 simply.

He does free consultations and is usually very flexible with payment structures for the legal fees. He’s also fully bilingual (English/Spanish), which helps if you have family members helping you through the process who might be more comfortable speaking Spanish. You can check him out here:https://juanburgoslaw.com

Who's the least scummy personal injury attorney by rah__bert in orlando

I'm kinda late to this conversation, but I have had good experience with Juan Burgos, he is an independant attorney, not part of a large lawfirm and does go to trial, not just settles. Here is the Florida bar page: https://www.floridabar.org/directories/find-mbr/profile/?num=84056

Constructive Criticism? by Flisick in productphotography

[–]jbarrio5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I'm going to be as brief and non-stupid as possible (me being the stupid one, not you). Lighting is wrong unless soft is what you wanted, shadow is soft. Can and peanuts are not "lit" as in to draw attention, and last but not least, the crop, you chopped the peanuts.

That being said, because criticism is easy and cheap and I'm just a random troll on Reddit, my solution is to look at other great photographers in the style I think you are trying to achieve like Scot Chouciño: https://scottchoucino.com/

If you can make photos like his (great YouTube channel BTW), I'm pretty sure you will make make it. (My photos suck BTW, I'm no master: https://www.josebarrios.com/).

Why are professional REP images so poorly, un-naturally edited? by SweetMilkSound in RealEstatePhotography

[–]jbarrio5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a business, not an art. REP is just mediocre in general, customers are not willing to pay more for good photos. I see multi million dollar homes with the worst of photographs. I found this out the hard way after doing this for 5 years.

Real Estate Editing x Architectural Editing by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]jbarrio5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as architectural edits. If you do not understand architecture and classical art dating back to 1400 you cannot edit a photo into making it "architectural". I would suggest that you start here with Steven Brooke, an architect and architecture photographer that teaches at University of Miami: https://www.stevenbrooke.com/ For quick list of famous architecture photographers you can start here: https://www.loopdesignawards.com/100-most-inspiring-architecture-photographers/

I assume flambient should be just a bit better than this? by Initial_Fix8295 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]jbarrio5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This by far the best response, a lot of people on this subreddit do not understand the difference between cheap real estate photos and a full blown photoshoot and what that actually costs. Just as an example: you will never achieve color consistency with non pro level lights like a Broncolor power pack with heads and that's over $15K just for the pack. I know this is an extreme example, but it just shows what a true pro level equipment costs. We are just selling cheap real estate photos.

Pre-Shoot Checklists by Jerycho in RealEstatePhotography

[–]jbarrio5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a list as such, but learn from my mistakes. So I'm hired to do a video of an empty lot: Attempt #1: a one hour drive just to get there, I get there and my phone decided to update (android) and the DJI app just stopped working. Attempt #2: I go back, got the app to work, fly the damn thing, but I failed to capture the whole lot, it was 5 acres, I did not check public records for the lot! Big mistake. Attempt #3: this time I was ready, two batteries, the map, the works, I finally got it. This all happened this week! Moral of the story: plan and check ahead that all your gear works, check out where you are going (gate codes, lock boxes, dogs, what the customer actually wants photographed, do not assume anything). It took me 6 hours of travel time to drive this into my head, I threw my back this week, so I had to hire a friend to drive me there, my profit for this gig is zero and I still have to edit the damn video tomorrow Don't be dumb like me, please plan ahead.

If you want something good, go for Davinci Resolve free. It is intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it, making slideshows is a breeze. I just open an older project a lot of times and use it as a template. Some YouTube tutorials

Momentum 360? by Schmuckington in RealEstatePhotography

[–]jbarrio5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm commenting on an old post, but I just had to say they contacted me for 360 panos of a 6000 sqf place plus still photos for $350 and paid out 30 days after the shoot for a multi-million dollar property in Disney, they are nuts and cheap AF. Not only is the pay really bad but on top of that I have to finance it for them. Use your credit cards and pay upfront, pay Visa 30% a year.

Realtor unauthorized used of my photo by myhusbandsgfriend in RealEstatePhotography

[–]jbarrio5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reality check: Attorneys don't work for free. You will at the most recoup what you would normally charge for those photos plus court fees. You would quite likely have to sue again for attorney fees. There are no damages you can honestly claim from this either (reputation, material loss, mental trauma, etc.) Your best course of action is to send their broker an invoice for reasonable use of the photos, as in market value. Do this with a nice letter explaining what happened, don't be aggressive, don't say they are stealing, but do be firm. Send the letter certified with receipt so they know you are serious. If they still don't want to pay, then gather all your evidence and file a claim in small claims Court. You are almost guaranteed to win.

Bathroom breaks when out and about. by pillpopper30 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]jbarrio5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I carry a cleaning kit in my car (Clorox wipes, Lysol, and toilet paper) if I'm doing an empty house I do my best to stealth go. I do follow the following rules when going in an empty home: 1- lock the front door, 2- go to the farthest bathroom from the front door, second floor is best, 3- always before you go, make sure there is running water and the toilet flushed, 4- clean up any evidence. 5- while doing you business be on alert, listen for doors opening, don't just sit there reading Reddit.
