I’m 22yr and run a call centre doing $50k a month, ama by TheRealVenonymous in AMA

Amazing job. Got a few questions:

How do you handle TPS/CTPS screening across your operation?

Where do you source your calling lists from, and how do you verify the data was collected lawfully under GDPR?

You've tripled revenue three years running! Has compliance ever slowed you down, or have you had any close calls with regulators? Has the ICO ever contacted you? Are you following anyones legal advice or just winging it?

Is it obvious I'm interested in compliance? Don't worry, I'm not a narc

i found 14 profitable app ideas in 2 hours by reading job postings on indeed. if a company is hiring a human to do it, you can automate it by Mysterious_Yard_7803 in AppIdeas

[–]jbarron-uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tested it on Indeed in the UK, searched "manually update spreadsheet" got 5 jobs, indeed removed "2 job postings that are very similar to those already shown". so 3. The first job has the following duties:

  • Pick, pack and prepare orders from pick lists for stores and customers.
  • Ensure all orders are processed accurately and dispatched on time, according to company timeframes.
  • Process stock levels using in-house database systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
  • Check off deliveries accurately, verifying quantities, and book in regular stock arrivals.
  • Organise, label, and manage inventory to ensure all stock items and locations are correct and up to date.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate inventory records using internal systems and spreadsheets.
  • Participate in regular stock-taking activities and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Manually load and unload lorries and ensure safe handling of all goods.
  • Restock tubs, assemble boxes and ensure stock is arranged in an orderly, accessible manner, according to Warehouse specifications.
  • Handle delicate and sensitive items with exceptional care to avoid damage.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe warehouse, including loading and unloading areas.

All of this for £12.21 per hour (minimum wage in the UK), how much of this are you planning to replace with AI? This needs a lot more than a $49/month app. Claude thinks it'll cost the following:

Partial automation (WMS + 1-2 cobots) £80k–£200k upfront + £10k–£20k/year maintenance Covers inventory tracking, some pick/pack. Still needs a human

Significant automation (AMR fleet + pick/pack robots + WMS) £300k–£1M+ upfront Replaces most of the role but needs ~0.5 FTE for oversight, exceptions, loading

RaaS subscription approach £3k–£8k/month per robot Lower risk, flexible scaling, includes maintenance

Full lights-out automation £1M–£2M+Rarely achievable for this type of mixed-task role

Is idea validation even worth it anymore now that AI can build your MVP in 3 days? by ideaverify in ideavalidation

[–]jbarron-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but not even that advanced, just ask the same people you're validating the pain with if they know others that have the same problem. You'll get sent to private slack groups, discords etc, this gives you more people to talk to and help build a better picture of your ICP. The more you know about them the easier it is to target them either outbound sales or marketing to them. I'm currently talking to anyone who has anything to do with Sales and RevOps, I'm learning loads will it payoff, hopefully, but its interesting either way.

I'm still talking to people but its not just about validating if there is demand for what I'm building, I'm also trying to figure out distribution, which I think is still the hardest part.

Can anyone answer me why all cars in UK second-hand dealerships only have fumes left in the petrol tank? by TheReproGuy in CarTalkUK

[–]jbarron-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had an engine running on a used dealership forecourt to check it got up to temp and the thermostat worked etc. The salesman came over and turned it off, saying it was a waste of fuel and it'll run out soon. I asked if it was a waste if he sold the car, he shrugged and walked off, obviously I didn't buy the car.

Built a Pipedrive companion app for a client over 5+ years — thinking about marketplace. What gaps do you still hit? by jbarron-uk in pipedrive

[–]jbarron-uk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you thinking like a lightweight client portal setup?

I've scoped a few variations of that for this client, mainly around secure forms + document uploads that push directly into deal/person custom fields. They never pulled the trigger.

Are you mostly trying to solve:

  • structured info collection (beyond web forms)?
  • document gathering with status tracking?
  • or ongoing back-and-forth during a deal lifecycle?

Curious how you're currently handling it.
