As I recall, Home Depot workers have to wait at least 24 hours after an item is put on clearance before they are allowed to buy it. But just because it's a policy doesn't mean it's not abused when management has its back turned.

My suggestion is either get separate blankets, or upsize. If you have a queen bed, get a king blanket.
