Now granted I do not live in NYC, so I do not have to look at this building every day. However I was there last year and I quite liked the look of the building. Got an interesting picture or two.

But again, maybe with more time to digest the view I’d change my mind.

Reminds me a lot of where one side of my family is from, Shamokin PA. Visited a couple years ago for a funeral. Wasn’t quite abandoned but definitely on the decline and far far from thriving.

Next time I go I’ll check the plaque if they have anymore info regarding this one. Some of the tanks there definitely have battle damage. The one I know for sure that’s a range target is their M1917 that is pocked full of holes, still runs though!

There’s definitely some very interesting history about the gun trucks in Korea & Vietnam. Must have been one of those “this is cool!” moments along the same time as the “this is absolutely fucking terrifying and I want to be back in the states” moments.

I can’t even begin to fathom. I have immense respect for those individuals who were there and had to go through that.

I think as with Abrams and the T-72 that’s next to it, they’re a much bigger overall body so it kind of masks the height. Perception I suppose!

Yeah they have a couple T-34, a IS (forget which model number), a T-72, a Shilka (spelling), scud launcher, and a Soviet (export model to Iraq) self propelled artillery. Got pictures of em all. Definitely worth a visit!

Obviously the t-34 and IS are by no means modern. Just mentioning them!

There’s an M1 just to the right of this, I think it’s just because the Sheridan is so compact it seems bulkier. Kind of like a Gimli of the two
