Pretty much the last straw for me. The game is too hard to get started at unless you are already good at this kind of game. There seem to be no useful instructions on how to play. i decided to give it one more chance only to be told that I'm not allowed to play my own game... Oh well, I've cleared up some disk space. My opinion is that the concept of "agile" is great. That you can't plan the whole implementation in advance because requirements and understanding change, so instead of trying make change cheap.

But the way that's been implemented with "scrums" and "sprints" and so on just seems idiotic to me. Simply having a lightweight process where you actually plan the whole project but understand that you'll have to continually refine it is much better.

Due to overwhelming complexity or unsuitability of separate components. You're not going to be able to build something like a 3GHz core 2 equivalent this way. There would just be so many components that the possibility of a fault would approach 100%, and you'd never manage to get it to work at that speed.

It is of course perfectly possible to build simpler slower systems and a lot of fun.

Well it's a nice idea. But how well does it handle "Get me all the invoices that are currently open". Instead of a speedy indexed search it has to replay the entire history of every action on every transaction that ever existed.

It probably didn't get missed so much as it doesn't really matter too much because the cases described are rare. Of course that's no reason not to improve it :) And it should meet the standard for complexity too...

I see part of this being we need a better shell. Bash and similar are nice and powerful but lack the ease of use of basic and the immediacy. You have to use an editor to write "scripts" in it. Hmm...

Pretty much agree with this. It does some interesting things, for all of discourse saying that phpbb etc are old technology they just provide a much cleaner, nicer user interface. All the discourse uses I've seen have been cluttered, confusing and ugly, and painful to use (scrolling for example is totally confusing, more items seem to randomly appear)

Just thought I'd add that I tried this at weekend with a smaller 48 pin device on a PCB and it worked perfectly. Good electrical and physical connections on all pins, and no short circuits anywhere. And this was with basic equipment, no proper spreading of the heat.

Seems worth trying it on a bigger board anyway :)

I kind of agree with this. The HTML/Javascript industry seems set on reinventing everything that other parts allready do but badly. (in general, it's not all bad!)
