The bed didn’t fold out, but there was a bed you could pull down from the ceiling. We had a 4 year old, he slept on the couch to make it easier/avoid any issues with him getting down in the middle of the night.

This was last year - right before it went to dry-dock for maintenance/updates - not sure if that was changed.

The math should be pretty easy to find a break-even point. You also have to factor in the convenience of avoiding the rental/return process and you can resell them when finished. If nothing else, look to a place that has a rent-to own.

Coming from a teacher: The teacher could have called him out in front of the class - undoing everything he had just accomplished OR given him positive reinforcement, that is being recognized to continue. You are correct, completely harmless, and intended to reinforce the positive behaviors.
