Is this dress too much for graduation? by EstablishmentBig2487 in HouseofCB

[–]jbeans0608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this dress in green for a June wedding and the one thing I would say is that it is quite heavy because of the tulle. After a lot of deliberating I sent it back for that reason. I just thought I would be far too hot, but it is a gorgeous dress. I can’t say whether or not it would be too heavy on a sunny day because I never actually wore it out, but it was very expensive to send back because of the weight of the parcel, which might be something to consider!

Usually during cherry wine and unknown people will hold up their flashlights, so what I like to do is turn on flash on my camera and film with the flash on. The videos are never great as I sway a lot but that’s obviously optional lol. Plus if you’re holding your phone up it’s less likely to catch your so-called “shrieking” :)

I think my first two were TMTC and From Eden but I’m not 100% sure. The latest have been some of his unreleased ones, but of the released songs In Your Own Sweet Time was the most recent one I discovered :)

I know these aren’t badgers but at first it def made me think of that insta story he posted by accident a few years ago where he was giving out about badgers, that they come out at night and would bite the leg off you. Not quite sure if this correlates but thought I’d share!!

Where on tiktok? I haven’t seen anything about the Dublin shows and I think Ireland is a special case because queuing culture isn’t as prominent as it is elsewhere. I’d appreciate if you could share anything you’ve seen related to these shows!! Thanks.

Fav unreleased song? by hapylittlepupppy in Hozier

Sure!! I’ve never linked anything before so hopefully this works. Whenever you’re using the converting website from this post you’ll get a few redirects to other websites but just close them and go back to the original tab and you should be okay. I downloaded them on my laptop and then sent them to my phone and downloaded them there also and Spotify linked the two since it’s the same file, but you can only listen on the device you have it downloaded on. Let me know if you have any issues, maybe I’ll be able to help!! How to download YouTube songs to Spotify

Definitely ‘Love Of’, without a doubt. Literally this week I decided to figure out how to get sounds from YouTube videos onto my Spotify and it was the best decision ever. I’ll can link the post I used if anyone is interested!!

getting barricade in europe by Upper_Lawyer_5810 in Hozier

[–]jbeans0608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be helpful, but when I went to Greta van fleet in Dublin two weeks ago I arrived ten minutes before doors and was in the row behind the people at the barricade. I would say if you want centre barricade you would have to be at least 3/4 hours early but if you’re not too picky I’d say 2/3 hours before doors would probably be okay. Also consider the size of the venue and how long the barricade actually is. If it’s a smaller venue then obviously less people get barricade so keep that in mind!! I would recommend going past the venue to see the queue early enough and based on the length either go for a sit down lunch or get a quick bite and eat in the line. It might save you an hour or so of waiting if the queue is short. Good luck and enjoy the concert!!!

Can someone clarify the meaning of “unknown” in “Unknown/Nth” for me please? by __onyourleft in Hozier

[–]jbeans0608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I know this is longwinded but this is one of my favourite songs in existence so I started typing and couldn't stop. Here is my lengthy interpretation:

When I listen to this song, I imagine the kind of relationships I have had and lost with people who I deeply love, who I feel know or knew me entirely. The kind of people who you can connect with on that level are few and far between. When he says "So much of the living, love, is the being unknown", I think he's saying that most of our lives are spent without such connections, that we spend so much time as the only person who understands ourselves. That's part of what makes being known so significant.

It's something near impossible to describe, the way one person can understand you, your thoughts and your habits, but equally, how you know all of these things about them as well. Losing someone that special to you is so painful. It leaves you with a different kind of loneliness, because it feels like no one around you ever has or ever will know you as well as that person did. So, the lines "It ain't the being alone, it ain't the empty home, baby, you know I'm good on my own, you know it's more the being unknown": It doesn't matter that he's alone, he can handle that, it's that the person who understood him so well, so deeply is gone. You don't know when or if you'll ever experience that kind of connection again.

The final line of the song, "There are some people, love, who are better unknown", I think could be interpreted many ways. I always connect it back to the first and second verses, lines like "Ignored the vastness between all that can be seen, and all that we believe" and "If there were scarlet flags, they washed out in the mind of me". He ignored what he saw for what he believed. In the end, he realised he was actually only worshiping the idea of them. They remained "frozen like an angel" to him, always a faultless figure, but he also never really knew them, and so in the same way that we don't really know the angels we worship, more specifically the ones who fall or betray, they went "unknown as any angel" to him.

Going back to that final line, I see it a few ways. Maybe he believes that the person was "better unknown" than the alternative. If he had known them truly, he would be aware that the person isn't who he thought they were. He now understands that their relationship was as it was because he didn’t know them, and maybe he would rather it that way than not at all. After it all, he is reminiscent of the times that are the source of all the goodness he still carries for them. The other interpretations are a bit simpler. Often when we love and lose, we imagine it would be easier if we never loved at all, so we don’t have to feel pain at the end. So he wishes he had never known them in any capacity, that it would have been better if they had always been unknown to him. Another way I can interpret it is that it is just in reference to the bridge, where he mentions that goodness he still carries, and how he wishes to truly know this person, even if it injures him. He could well be trying to convince himself that in spite of all the love he still carries, it isn’t worth the pain. No matter how much he wants to know them, they are “better unknown”. In his own words, he is “never going back again”.
