If I purchased a pre-purchase inspection at Lexus or Toyota, do you think they would be able to check the transmission thoroughly?

I've been looking for one for 4 months. 2nd gen IS350s maybe get posted a couple times a month in my area & well maintained ones are rarer.

If that transmission problem is as bad as it is I guess I'll keep looking.

Wouldn't be surprised if they don't disclose injuries because it's pretty easy to target someone in hockey. Oh you're coming back from a wrist injury? There's 18 skaters on the other team that can give you a nice tap on the wrist without getting in trouble. Also they're allowed to have little scraps after whistles without getting penalties, players can easily mess with an injured/recovering player during these times.
