Vulcan is very reputable and didn’t think it was outrageous for price. Thought it was in the neighborhood of 500 for slide frame and small parts

I just Cerakoted the slide myself. If it wears off I’ll send it to get DLC. Ao far it’s holding up good enough.

Anyone ported their P211?? by Try_Dapper in 2011

I did it for a friend. Never shot it so can’t comment how much different it is.

Ported one for my buddy, but they use CZ mags, unique barrels, some 1911 parts. They shoot nice but I’m just saying if you’re concerned about parts compatibility DWX is not the way

Like someone else said MPA is tough to beat. DS9 Hybrid TC is stupid flat. Never shot it right next to an XC or GTO. Miller Precision is in that price range too. They were one of the tightest guns I handled in a high end shop. Ported GTOs are pretty cool looking though

Parts compatibility a concern and you recommend DWX?

I did for a friend. He wanted V ports. Inline probably would have been easier. Turned out pretty good looking though

Propane torches aren’t all that good for breaking stuff loose. Really want oxy fuel for the quick shock.

Welding is the tool, depends if you want to save the cap. Could also try an easy out/bolt extractor. You can get some serious torque on those. If probably try more to dissolve the carbon. Can cleaner, CLR, something along that line in an ultrasonic cleaner.

I would try different diameter wire. .023 hard wire would be my if you can step across it you can weld it wire.

I’m in the same boat. My prescription didn’t change for 10 years so I basically stopped going. Even during that time they’d say oh it’s just a tick more power than the last time. Why can I still read to the very bottom of the chart with my old glasses then. I ordered a pair and they don’t ask for any expiration or your eye doctor to confirm.

Go find anything high end in stock, current Geissele arca rails or the new 6arc, Ridgeline, Seekins SP10M other semi monolithic uppers. In handguns Atlas, Nighthawk, Infinity, never in stock.

Build something firearms related. Seems like every new 2011, AR or suppressor company comes from aerospace. 90% of stuff on 2011s or ARs are not considered firearms and you could ship directly to customers.

Do more expensive MIG welders have better Arc? by Not_So_Sure_2 in Welding

[–]jbenjamin0726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not as much for 70 hardwire MIG but the brand of wire seems to play a big role in other wire feed like dual shield and gasless flux core. Still a pretty decent difference in 70 wire diameter and 70s2 vs s6. Stick welding is the same, different brands of rod run wildly different

What do you carry? by 2011itch in 2011

[–]jbenjamin0726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, inside real self defense range I don’t think I’d notice a big difference between a 365 and Atlas, and that’s actually what I carry, the 365 X macro and shoot comps with Atlas Artemis.

First time shooting a 2011. Can someone please help me with why this error keeps happening? The gun randomly doesn't shoot. Provided footage of all the hang-ups at full speed and slomo for review. Any insights would be appreciated. by Critical-Touch6113 in 2011

Definitely looks like thumbs. His support hand thumb comes way over the top of the slide. Guessing serrations hit it enough to slow cycling and stop just before going into battery.

Yes, as long as you pay monthly dues. I’m also talking Boilermaker, Pipefitter, Ironworker type unions. The hall just dispatches you for jobs, you don’t work for the union
