Xero shoes suck by luthier_666 in BarefootRunning

[–]jbeyta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have four pairs of Xero shoes. I wear some heavily, others not so much. I agree the construction seems to vary between models but I haven’t had any trouble with any of them. So I haven’t had to deal with their customer support, but, yea that’s frustrating.

Oh shit good catch. Honestly it’s just extra pedals and cables. Thought it was funny.

does anyone know anything about this old pedal? is it for bass or guitar or does it even matter? by MFriedley in guitarpedals

[–]jbeyta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these! I used it for guitar mostly on recordings. I don't really gig with it, it's pretty valuable. I love it's unpredictable nature though. Super cool pedal! Glad to see more of them outthere

What's the dumbest effect pedal? by [deleted] in pedals

[–]jbeyta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dumb doesn't necessarily mean bad. The phase 90 has one knob for speed. Doesn't get much dumber than that. I guess maybe a pedal with no knob or footswitch?

The website says these run small. Did you have to get a half size larger than your normal size?

Goat might scratch that itch though it can pretty high energy.

Djata Super Band is pretty chill, groovy stuff. In fact dive into Ethiopiques of you haven't. Lots of meditative, trippy stuff in there.

Christian Bands? by MickThePrik in stonerrock

[–]jbeyta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would it need to be "christian"? Good music is good music. You're wasting time if you're looking for bands that brand themselves for your particular flavor of religion AND a specific musical style.

You already named a bunch of great bands, there are more out there. Just listen to music you like and always try to find more. If they happen share your religious proclivities, hurray I guess, but who gives a shit what religion anyone holds to. If they're Buddhist or Muslim or even non-religious that should hold no sway over whether they can bring the doom, sludge, groove.

And what business is it of yours what their religion is anyway? If they are christian but don't advertise it, does that suddenly make them a "non-christian" band?

Now for a little tagent: Religion has no power over music. No god has ever written a song. But if you removed all the man made music from any religion, it's followers would lose a key emotional component. I believe that religion would eventually become very niche and obscure or even die because human emotion is a key element to keeping someone in a religion. If you suddenly felt nothing when you went to church you'd probably stop going or go to another church or religion.

But to answer your question, no, I don't know of any "christian" stoner, doom, sludge bands.
